Alumni of Sir. J.J.College of Architecture, Gold Medallist and recipient of Claude Batley Memorial Prize for Architectural Design (1979). Received Master of Architecture degree by research from University of Mumbai in 1988.
After working with Ar. Uttam C. Jain and Patell Batliwalla Manohar & Associates, she joined J.J., as a visiting Lecturer while pursuing private practice. She has worked as a consultant on several planning and conservation projects including Sindhudurg District Headquarters Project at Oros for CIDCO, Study report on Dahanu & Environs for Dahanu Chapter of INTACH, Heritage Listing and Development Guidelines Proposals for Matheran Hill Station and Cumballa Hill Precinct (INTACH & MMR Heritage Society Projects) and Elephanta Island (WHS) Management Plan for INTACH. She was associated with notable restoration projects in Naval Dockyard, Mumbai namely Ballard Bunder Gatehouse, Rigging shop, Bombay Castle & Fort wall. Presently she is running her private practice and handled several residential and institutional projects since 2004.
Her project work was exhibited at ‘2000 Plus – WOMEN IN ARCHITECTURE’ Conference and Exhibition held by HECAR Foundation in Mumbai, February 2000.
She has a teaching experience of 32 years to her credit. At IES, she is a Professor, teaching and co-ordinating Architectural Design, Urban planning and Design Dissertation.
She has been a multi tasker and very particular about time management which helps her maintain perfect balance between teaching, profession and family responsibilities. She has complete faith in the potential of students and loves to motivate them to work. She believes that teaching helps a person to learn, evolve and remain young.
