The Indian Education Society commonly known as I. E. S. in the educational circles is considered as one of the largest educational trusts in Maharashtra. This trust is 94 years old. The first school was started in 1912 under the name of King George English School by a handful of dedicated social workers. These founding fathers believed in the spread of education as the necessary ingredient needed for achieving freedom from ignorance.
I.E.S. has Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary Schools in Greater Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts.
The schools teach in two media i.e. Marathi and English. The Student strength is approximately 70,000 who are taught by well trained teachers. The IES also runs three colleges: College of Architecture, College of Management and Research Centre and Junior College at Bandra. In the year 2002, the Maharashtra State Government honoured IES by declaring it as An Ideal Educational Institute. For the overall development of the students, the society undertakes a number of schemes, programmes and projects in different campuses of IES schools.

Dear Friends,
Indian Education Society's Katrap Vidyalaya was established two decades ago with the aim of providing children in Badlapur with Quality education. In this backdrop we take great pride in the 100% result of the school in March, 2014 SSC Board examination. Simultaneously. we would like to acknowledge that this was achieved due to unstinting efforts & dedication of our teachers and the parent community. We also take great pleasure in acknowledging the role of our school in promoting numerous sports cultural & extra-curricular activities for all round development of our students. Indian Education Society is glad to inform all Badlapur residents that we have purchased land measuring approx. 7400 Sq. meters at Manjarlee in Badlapur to meet the growing need of local people.VVe are in the process of taking necessary Government clearances to start the project,as early as possible.' The launch of the Website is another step by our school to highlight the achievements of our students, teachers & staff while keeping our parent community & general public informed of developments in our school.

Dr. Pramod Bhogawkar has been the patron of our school ever since its inception. In fact, he has kindly donated the land under his holding for the purpose of starting the school. Even today, he is concerned about the smooth functioning of the school and offers whatever help he can. The school will always be indebted to him for his assistance and kindness. His contribution has been priceless.
