Our 6 month course is an intensive programme, to make you a trained ceramic artist. The course takes you, through a holistic approach, to learn this art and craft form. Starting from understanding clay and glaze materials, we will take you closer to Basic design elements and basic working methods of exploring this medium. Along with hand building, mound casting we are also emphasizing on wheel throwing. We have very high benchmarks to submit your final portfolio, and there will be a jury and presentation. It’s a one of a kind dynamic course consisting of master classes, workshops, demonstrations and Most importantly an encouraging culture to have a clear vision of establishing a ceramics community! This course is aimed at building basic skills required to work in ceramics (hand built + wheel throwing). It is designed to take you in a structured manner, to explore ceramics, at the beginners level. This will give you further clarity into clay. You will be able to process and translate your ideas onto clay with all the techniques you would be learning. Wheel throwing is a technique that requires skill and practice. Our course would teach you to develop this technique and become an expert at this technique. This technique has the process of learning centering to cylinder throwing and putting handles. Further you can throw larger clay objects. In Hand building the clay article involved three basic methods. Pinching ,Coiling and Slab Formation. Students will be taught step by step in detail how to work in each method and you will be creating your art works by using any of the methods or in combination of different methods. All the articles will be glazed at 1200 degree centigrade in the electrical kiln. Ready glazes will be provided along with the guidance for glaze application. This is an introductory level course, which will enable students to interact with clay and develop their own pottery and other expressions in clay. This course is aimed for hands-on experience in clay (Hand build + Wheel throwing) Anyone can come and learn this art and craft medium. You need to have a desire to learn, passion and dedication to attend all course sessions as per planned.

For experienced potters, we offer full access to all our equipment for a fee of Rs 300/- per hour (not including material and firing charges). Each Studio Potters will have a designated shelf to store their works in progress and personal tools. (Locker facility available). General shelving area is also available for oversized pieces or additional work that is drying or in process.
Studio Potters can make use of the studio 7 days a week whenever the studio is open (Except bank holidays). They have full access to our studio equipment. Clay and glazes will be chargeable. Please call ahead or check the on-line schedule before arriving. *Except when workshops are scheduled.
*If the studio is very busy during any day, time on the wheel might be limited to two hours. We anticipate this will be a rare occurrence and appreciate your cooperation.
