ACHIEVEMENTS AT ARCHITECT’S REGIONAL COUNCIL OF ASIA’S STUDENT JAMBOREE AT KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA (23rd to 29th June, 2014)
Students from Indian Education Society’s College of Architecture, Mumbai and Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture, Pune represented the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the ARCASIA Student Jamboree where 300 students and architects from 19 different countries in Asia were present. They made the country proud by bagging prizes in various competitions held there.
They were accompanied by IIA President Ar. Prakash Deshmukh, IIA Joint Secretary Ar. Vilas Avchat and Ar. Paresh Kapadia. They were the winners of the Cultural Performance which was a musical and dance routine in the classical, semi-classical and Bollywood style.
They bagged the 2nd runner up prize in the Mural Imprint Program held at Padang Merbok where each country was given a patch of a footpath to imprint their culture on wet concrete which would stay in that place forever.
They also participated in the ‘Greening Putrajaya’ Movement where delegates from each country planted a tree at Precinct 9 in Putrajaya, the financial and commercial capital of Malaysia.
This ground breaking success at an international platform has indeed opened up avenues for student exchange programs, internships abroad and has also inspired students from all over Asia to visit India for architectural excursions as well as for further studies and internships.
These achievements have indeed created a highly respectable image of the current as well as upcoming architects of the nation at a global platform.

National Association for Students of Architecture [NASA] Awards
On behalf of the Indian Education Society, I welcome you to the IES College of Architecture – the place where we initiate our students into the world of architecture in the best years of their lives. We are a twenty-year old Institution and over the last two decades, we have grown to become one of the most sought-after architecture colleges in the city of Mumbai.
We aim at all-round development of our students and they are constantly encouraged to explore horizons that are beyond the realms of the defined courses of study. Besides their curricular studies, our academic schedule is designed to include sports, study tours, cultural programs, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We have a strong team of faculty members, administrative and non-teaching staff who dedicatedly work towards motivating our students, guiding them and instilling in them positive values that shape their attitude, outlook and conduct.
Architecture is a confluence of arts, science and economics, all bound together with a strong sense of creativity and innovation, rendered to deliver a service to Society. Our students, when they graduate as architects from our Institution, are vested with the responsibility of serving Society through the knowledge that they acquire in their five years with us.
We strive hard to see that our students step into the professional realm with academic brilliance and ethical excellence and make IESCOA proud in the days to come!
