About


Khudeja has been teaching architecture since 2009 at various colleges of architecture and is currently an Associate Prof at IES COA. She completed her Bachelors from Rizvi College of Architecture and then moved on to pursuing her M. Arch. in urban and regional planning from IES College of Architecture. She has a keen interest in studying the vernacular architecture of various regions and has conducted studios in the past regarding the same. She also shoulders responsibility for conducting lectures and studios on urban Planning for the students in their final year in the subject of Allied Design. Allied design studio for final year students at IES College of Architecture focuses exclusively on Urban Planning, a syllabus designed keeping in mind the overall understanding of the subject and equipping students in pursuing further studies for the same. Research in architecture and urban issues interest her immensely and is driven towards creating a stronger foothold in the same. An ardent traveller, Khudeja loves to travel and explore places. She believes that travel is the best form of learning. And just like travel, the learning process must never stop.

Notable Achievement, Publications and Projects
  • Felicitated at the IIA Dissertation Award for mentoring a student who won fourth place amongst dissertation students of colleges in the MMR for the year 2020.
    Article published in Council of Architecture (India) magazine, Architecture, Time Space and People, March 2012 – Architecture without architects
  • Invited as a speaker at the 15th Asian Congress of Architects- ARCASIA 2012 held at Bali, Indonesia to read a paper on Symbiosis of Cultural heritage and Modernist Inserts in Asian countries
  • Attended the Vernacular Architecture Forum held in Gaspé-Percé, Québec, Canada from 11-15 June 2013, as respondent in the Sustaining the tourism industry in Perce workshop.
  • Presented a paper entitled Housing analysis at fringe area- A parametric analysis, case-Mumbai at the conference Future Housing: Global Cities and Regional Problems organized by AMPS, the scholarly journal Architecture MPS, and Swinburne University of Technology.
  • Delivered a lecture and conducted a workshop for COATRC at IES College of Architecture on Documentation of temple precinct in December 2020
  • Conducted a three day workshop on Field Research Methods Study of Jivdani temple precinct in Virar. , November 2015 at Viva College of architecture.
  • Conducted a workshop on ‘Study of Impact of Religious Spaces on their Surroundings, Case: Island City Mumbai’ at IES College of Architecture, Mumbai.
  • Conducted an elective on Art movement in Architecture at NDMVPS College of Architecture in November 2019.
  • Appointed as the subject incharge for Allied design (semester 3 and 4) and designed the course content for the new syllabus introduced by the Mumbai University. Of the various projects done, one of the projects of furniture out of scrap had been displayed in the Bandra Art Festival in November 2014 and in the Kala Ghoda art festival in February 2014.
