About

An Architect by education and an artist by passion, Tanmayee has pursued a crossroad between her two interests. She is a postgraduate with a specialization of M.Arch : Major in Architectural Design + Minor in History, Theory & Criticism (HTC) from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She has worked in the field of Architectural Design, Research & Writing. As a Project Architect, she has experience of Residential & Institutional projects from Design Conception to Project Execution. She has also worked for Tender procedures of various Redevelopment projects in Mumbai under a Design & Liasoning firm.

Tanmayee firmly believes that an educator is a lifelong learner. According to her, theory, research and practice play an important role in pedagogy. Her forte is in core theory subjects like Architecture Theory, Research Methodology, Professional Practice and Humanities. Debates and discussions form a major part of her theory classes. She is also involved in conducting Design studios and tries to strengthen the thought process of the students by guiding them to reading, analyzing and opinion building. Her keen interests are Architectural Journalism, Design Thinking and Art. She has experience of conducting various workshops and electives revolving around these subjects. Apart from academic engagement, she has mentored students for debate competitions, design research and essay competitions.

Awards :

1. Participated in ‘Customized Bricks 1.1 – Pavilion Design through Computation’ (Winter school workshop, CEPT 2016) executed at Riverfront, Ahmedabad- won iDAC Intelligent Series Award 2018-19

1. Contributed as an editor for “Probe” – Newsletter (published in 2017) at CEPT University, Ahmedabad.

2. Contributed as a co-editor for the book – Unravelling Museums of Ahmedabad (published in 2018) at CEPT University, Ahmedabad.

3. Article entitled ‘The Art of Journaling’ published in an anthology entitled ‘Resolve’ by Bishara Publishing House, Orissa (2020).

4. Poetry entitled ‘ It’s not just a click’ published in ‘Aavaran’, an annual magazine by CTES College of Architecture, Mumbai (2022).

1. Conducted an art workshop entitled ‘FABart’ : Exploration through fabric painting for students at CTES College of Architecture, Mumbai (2021).

2. Conducted a workshop entitled ‘ARTSCAPES’ : Exploration through Natural Colors – Pigments, plant dyes & inks (Quest 2022 – Outreach program) at CTES College of Architecture, Mumbai.
