Along with lots of fun, field trips also give valuable learning experiences. The children were taken for field trip to ‘Baker Street’ on the 10th of March.
Annual Educational Exhibition ‘Nature’s Gifts’ was held on the 3rd and 4th of March in our new KG classrooms. The exhibition portrayed the various gifts Mother Nature has bestowed us with.
They are the gifts of seasons, water, sunlight, greenery, crops and natural resources. Pertaining to the child’s level each use was explained by the Sr KG and Balwarg children.
To give valuable lessons on life skills , children are taken for educational excursions. In this techno savvy world, children were introduced to the most efficient and oldest method of communication: letters, envelope, postcards and stamps. So, on 16th February the SR KG and Balwarg children were taken to visit the Bhandup (E) Post Office.
Clay is very versatile and there are so many ways children can play and experiment with it. Clay gives them the opportunity to be creative and learn about texture, shape and form whilst having lots of fun. On the 27th of January, children participated in the ‘Clay Competition’ held during school hours. They displayed their talent by creatively displaying the clay art!!
Republic day celebration was held on 25th January, 2017. Children were given information about the importance of the day. On the 26th our Sr KG and Balwarg children presented the ‘Dumbbells Drill’ and ‘Chitra Rath’ – a presentation depicting National leaders and activists. They were indeed thrilled to participate for the flag hoisting ceremony.
Sports develop a sense of friendliness among the children and build on their team spirit. So, to promote this skill on 3rd and 4th January the Annual Sports Day was held on Kanjur Sports Grounds. Running race was held for all classes. Whereas, stringing beads and building blocks were held for Mini and Jr KG. Placing paper cups on shapes race was held for Sr KG and Balwarg.
On the 9th of December children participated in the ‘Paper Folding’ competition held during school hours. Children of Mini, Jr, Sr KG and Balwarg creatively laid out different objects out of craft paper.
On the 24th of August we celebrated ‘Gokulashtami’.Children dressed up as Radhas,Gopikas and Balkrishnas. Children were narrated the story of Shree Krishna Janam.
Festivals are an auspicious day or a period of religious celebration prevalent in all societies and religious communities. Festivals are an important part of our life. And for children to understand the importance of festivals Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in the classroom where kids presented rakhis made by them and were treated to the taste of delicious karanjis.
Role playing is one of the most important tools of learning, particularly at the pre-primary level. One role play activity that is always loved by children is the opportunity to dress up for the character they love. So, on 10th of August Fancy Dress competition was held. The topic was ‘Flowers’.
