Katrap school campus celebrated the Maharashtra Day on 1st May. The tricolour flag hoisted by the auspicious hands of Smt Shaila Modak, the 'Best Clerk' prize winner and going to retire.
The school celebrated National Science Day on 28/02/2019 to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C V Raman. The students of standard 5th to 9th participated in various competitions to boost their scientific skills like drawing for std 5th, elocution for std 6th, essay writing and quiz for std 7th and std 8th and 9th were the exhibitors for the science exhibition. All the students were enthusiastic during the competition.

Primary teachers had attended a seminar organised by Lodha World School'. The event was co-sponsored by Ratna Sagar P. Ltd. A great author Pervin Saket (writer of Novel Urmila) was the resource person. Teachers were taught how to write 'Black Out Poetry', 'How to increase vocabulary', 'How to conduct essay writing sessions' etc. It was an interactive session.
IES and Marathi Vidyan Parishad had arranged science exhibition in collaboration at Raja Shivaji Vidyasankul. 22 students from std 7th, 8th and 9th attended the same. Students got first hand experience in handling science apparatus. The sessions were well organised and well planned. The volunteers and authorities bore genuine efforts to help students.
A presentation was given on Biowaste management by a private company on 10th January for std 7th and 8th. It involved different prospects of dry and wet waste segregation.
Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ i.e on 25th December. Our KG celebrated Christmas on 24th Dec'18, and the project on the same was put up.
Santa Claus made a surprise visit to our KG with lots of pretty Gifts for the tinytots. kids were very excited to see Santa dancing and singing with them.
Annual Sports Meet 2018-19 was held on 17.12.18 and 18.12.18 in school playground. Different sports events like langadi, lemon and spoon, Relay Race, Running Race were conducted.
Vedant Patil of 7th Std. participated in the two days Science exhibition held at S.I.C.E.S school, Ambernath on the topic 'ORGANIC FARMING'.

For English there was a repeat performance of Prize-winning (Kala Vikas). Elocution and Reading Skill activities by students of Std. VIII and X.
A session on Riddles was held by students of std. IX and also a short stand-up comedy by std. X.
The Centenary year of Iconic performers was acknowledged by the rendition of the Geeta-Ramayan,Swayamvar performed by Std. X.
A quiz based on Hindi related to writers and their works was conducted by std. IX.
The use of the technical aids was made to hold a Quiz to guess the number-names in Sanskrit by students of Std. IX.
Children were urged to give original articles for the School Magazine.
A programme to TIFR (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research) was arranged by the school.
on Sunday, 25th November 2018. A group of 15 students along with 3 teachers visited the centre. Scientific and mathematical Puzzles were solved by the Ph.D students of TIFR using interesting tricks. Subjects were thus made easy.
Chemical experiments were conducted by the experts of TIFR which aroused a sense of curiosity among students interested in science. An interactive session was conducted between students at the end of the lecture. Students enjoyed to their utmost.
The Literature Club for Std. 8,9,10 was conducted for the third time. Several programmes had been arranged by students.
Students of std. VIII took charge of the English language session. They presented a quiz on writers by showing images of the personalities and giving hints. Riddles were posed and the listeners enjoyed guessing the answers. A short Skit comparing the older generation and the new generation regarding study patterns, Social life was depicted.
Two quizzes based on pictures were taken up in Sanskrit one by Std. X and the other by Std. VIII. The pictures or images shown were of everyday use.
A debate was conducted and students of std. X were most active. The topic was ‘re mobile phones a loom or lane? This debate was conducted in English.
An activity of ‘Play-reading’ was taken up in Marathi by students of std.VIII. It was an interesting piece about the different organs in the human body and sense organs having a discussion to prove their superiority. Ultimately, the moral understood was that all the organs were of some importance or the other and co-operation among them was vital.
Annual Sports Meet 2018-19 was organized for three days between 8th and 10th October. The Oath for the Sportsmanship was taken and the champion torch was carried by the exemplary sportsperson of the school. Sports Meet proved to be enthusiastic, thrilling and nail-biting at the last day during Final Matches.
Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd of October, A ‘Prabhat pheri’ (morning march) was arranged. Patriotic songs and bhajans revived nationalism amongst the students. The students made the procession more energetic by their slogans and magnificent proclamations.
This march could inculcate the messages, values and ideologies of Mahatma Gandhiji in young India.Students were acquainted with even second Prime Minister, La Bahadur Shashtri for his ‘simple living and high thinking’.
To bring the children into an entertainment mood, Ganeshotsav was celebrated on 11th Sept’2018, with the theme ‘THE KIDZ GARDEN’, in a eco-friendly manner like every year. One of the parent helped to put up the project of beautiful Garden. Teachers and children sang aartis while our Bappa enjoyed the Swing ride in the garden.

This year Teachers’s Day was conducted as Student-Teachers’ Day. KG Classes were allotted to the Students of std IVth to teach. Our tinytots enjoyed the teaching of their new Teacher and got involved in the activities conducted.
Krishna janmashthami was celebrated on 30th Aug’2018 with great enthusiasm. Project depicting leelas of Bal Krishna was displayed. Children as Krishnas and Radhas danced on ‘Govinda ala re’ songs. AV on Krishna janma was shown to the kids.
On 27th Aug’2018, one of the Grandmother of a Balvarg student was invited to narrate story to the children. Children enjoyed the stories as well as Balgeet sung by the grandmother. Children gifted Greeting cards prepared by them to the granny. She was overwhelmed with the tinytots love and greeting cards.
Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on 24th Aug’2018, by tying rakhi on the wrist of each child by the teacher, depicting the bond of love and care and the project was displayed.
On the same day project on Narali Poornima was also displayed. Teachers gave information regarding the festivals. Children brought various articles made from coconut shells. Rava- naral Laddoos were distributed to all.

SNAKES are considered friends of the Farmers. In order to preserve snakes and to know this importance, Projects on 'Nag Panchmi' was put up. This co-incided with the Independence Day, so that project was also displayed on 14th Aug’2018. Information regarding both the festivals was given by the teacher. Kids participated in various activities like preparing clay snakes, Drawing & colouring the National Flag and Paper Collage of Tricolour. Kurmure Laddoos were distributed to them.

Various types of Diyas like Earthen Diya, lantern, samaii , torch bulb, Stone Diya, etc were displayed. ’Shubhamkaroti’ was recited by the tiny-tots. Teachers gave information regarding the project to them.

On Friday 27th July,2018, GURU POORNIMA was celebrated. Project on the same was displayed and stories based on Guru-Shishya relationship were narrated to the children.
Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated on friday 20th July,2018. Children dressed up as Varkaris and participated in the DINDI (Procession), which went upto Gaondevi temple and back to the school, chanting ‘JAI JAI VITHAL, JAI HARI VITHAL’. With full fervour as kids enjoyed Fugdi and the teachers sang Abhanga.
Project was displayed and information regarding the festival was given to the children.
On 11th July 2018, the first session of the literature club (Std. VIII – X) of IES Katrap Vidyalaya was conducted including the students and teachers of English, Marathi, Hindi as well as Sanskrit languages. The inauguration of high school English literature club was done by performing a prayer to the Almighty in Marathi. Then, the club proceeded to give information about Hindi literature and the famous writer Premchand alongwith great poets like Kabir. This was presented by students of newly joined VIII Std. A Sanskrit play of a monkey and two cats was very well enacted by X Std. students. English literature was explained and various types like poems, legendary stories, jokes (standup comedy), quiz were expatiated by X Std. students.
In this way, the club session was made memorable with various presentations on Power Point, awesome anchoring and it encouraged students to develop a liking for literature alongwith their increasing participation.
21st June,2018 was celebrated as Yoga Day, to make children aware of the importance of Yoga in our day to day life to have a healthy body and peaceful mind. Yoga Asanas were displayed through flex boards.
Our school has celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2018.
Students from all the standards and teachers actively participated and experienced the healthy activity. Mr. Kalaskar (P. T. Sir) taught Yoga, Mrs. Shuchee explained the importance of Yoga, Mr. Patil monitored the students’ activity to make this program successful.
Students have promised that they will exercise yoga daily.
