The Last Session of Literature Club of Academic Year 2019-20 of Std. VIII to X was Conducted of January 1,2020 at the start of the New year. All Students and teachers actively participated in this club. The club began with dialogues between two students on topics like advantage-disadvantages of mobile phone, Computer etc. by std. VIII students. A unique type of Hindi Quiz was conducted by students of std. IX. Some of them were to tell number names in Hindi and to say few lines on topics like pollution, new year etc. And the most interesting topic was to say few lines on ‘Gratitude ‘After this , students were told to write about their new year resolution on a paper. The best among them is going to be published in the Annual magazine of year 2020-21. This was an interesting way to develop the vocabulary and writing skills of students. In this way, the last session of literature club was conducted successfully.
"IES KATRAP VIDYALAYA PRIMARY SECTION celebrated Christmas eve with great pomp and reverence, students came in colourful dresses. Christmas carols were sung to mark the birth of lord Jesus. Students enacted skit depicting the message of peace given by lord Jesus in the holy book of Bible. Students welcomed Santa Claus by dancing on the tunes of the gingle Honourable madam Smt. Nutan Bhagwat gave best wishes to all students. Students danced on favourite Christmas songs and enjoyed the party. Santa gave away gifts and sweet to all students. It was a day full of fun and excitement."
The Third session of the Literature Club was held on 18th September, 2019. Children prepared and presented several activities which provided information and knowledge too. The activities also provided some fun in the use of words. A challenging spelling game was taken up for Hindi. The ten words were really uncommon and students had to struggle to get the words right. Two stories were narrated in Sanskrit. The children of Std. IX presented the same with very clear expressions and speech. They held the attention of the listeners. One of them was a prize-winning entry at Mumbai Divisional level.
Humorous and interesting tongue-twisters were read out beginning with the letters of the Devanagari script. They were read out like the news items.
A quiz on G.K. was conducted by Std.X. It covered all fields of study. Some puzzles and riddles were also posed.
I.E.S Katrap Vidyalya English Medium Primary Section Celebrated Ganesh Festival with great pomp. Students came in colorful dresses and offered flowers to Lord Ganesha. School head Smt. Nutan Bhagwat accomplished the puja and narrated the importance of eco-friendly Ganesha. Teachers also stressed on the environmental changes happening due to the lack of awareness and give students knowledge about it. Students also made Ganpati out of clay and decorated it.
The whole school participated in this celebration. Students prayed and sang bhajans, recited shlokas. Music teacher Smt. Sangita Barve sang song in this celebration, which created great enthusiasm among students. The whole school premises echoed with the sound of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya..”.
All students were given Prasad by the school. It was a day to be remembered . This festival brought a sense of responsibility among the students to protect the nature and to respect it. It also gave them the foundation to nurture and keep their glorious culture.
Our school celebrated Ganapati festival on 30th August 2019. This year theme was ART. A project was displayed with pictures of different activities done by the children in the class as thumb painting, sponge painting , vegetable painting, collage work and crush ball sticking. Students were given ladoo as Prasad. It was very much enjoyed by children.
It is common practice among Indian, especially Hindu families, that children take blessings by touching their parents' feet. Some children take blessings of their parents by touching their feet every day. In Hindu religion, worship of parents is a part of the customs of the Hindus. Mother is considered the first guru of the child. Keeping this in mind our school celebrated this feast on 29-08-2019 by displaying the project.
The Second Session of the Literature club was held on 28th August 2019 at IES Katrap Vidyalaya. A lot of activities were presented by students and there was a variety in the performances involving knowledge, music, song and fun.
A presentation on the world famous short story teller Rudyard Kipling who wrote children’s books like ‘Jungle book’ and ‘Just So Stories’ was given. A few riddles were posed, some proverbs were translated. This was done in English.
In Marathi speeches were delivered on the national festival Independence Day and cultural festival “बैल पोळा” and also on “मातृदिन”.
A skit on the self-importance shown by all parts of the body was presented where the brain ultimately gives the judgment that all parts are important and vital for the services. They provide and even the stomach which is considered to be the culprit is not to be blamed on belittled.
Children sang interesting children’s songs and ‘artis’ which are originally in Marathi. They presented them in Sanskrit. A play with the theme ‘Unity is Strength’ was acted out.
In Hindi a poem was recited on the occasion of ‘मातृदिन’.
In order to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna, a celebration was organized in Pre primary section of Udgam School for Children. All children came in traditional dresses. Some boys came dressed as ‘Krishna’ and some girls came dressed as ‘Radha’. Beautiful decorations were put up to make this event more cheerful and colorful. Children danced on the tunes of garba. A ‘Matki Phod’ event was also organized to mark the mischievous nature of ‘Bal Gopal’.
Our school celebrated this feast by displaying the project, also children were ask to dress up as Radha and Krishna.
Our school celebrated granny day on Thursday 22th August 2019. We invited one of our students grandmother Smt. Seema Pethe for this occasion. She narrated a small interesting story about the moon, which the children enjoyed a lot. She was felicitated by giving greeting made by our students.
On 14/08/2019 our school displayed Independence Day and Narali Poorima project to show as to how the celebration is done in our school.
The project of Independence Day showed pictures of our national leaders who layed their life for our country it also showed how celebration is done all over the the country. Narali poornima project depicted about our traditions and relation between brother and sister. It was celebrated by distribution of naralwadi and tying of rakhi.
Naga Panchami is celebrated by Hindus in most parts of India. Naga Panchami is celebrated on Panchami in Shravan month. On this day, they worship Naga Devata (Cobras). Cobras are considered divine in Hindu mythology. People go to temples and snake pits and they worship the snakes. They offer milk and silver snake to protect them from all evils. They also fast. This festival is to celebrate the day.
A project was displayed on 05/08/2019 to make the students aware of the festival which shows love and devotion for animals
A snack is small service of food and generally eaten between meals. Sacks come in a variety of form including packaged snacks food and other processed food, as well as items made from fresh ingredients at home.
Keeping the above points in mind our IES Katrap Vidyalaya KG section organized “SNACK MAKING” competition for the fathers and grandfathers of our students, so that even they become aware about the importance of snacks. For this competition presentation, taste and nutritive value where the criteria to be considered.
It was really a very good response by our parents as they found it very exciting and encouraging as it gave a exposure to nutritive value which is now a days very important from health point of the upcoming generation.
Deep Puja, also called as Deepa Pooja, is done on Amavasi (No moon) day in Ashada month in Maharashtra and a few parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It is observed to welcome the blessed Shravan month by all Hindu people. Deep puja lights will ward off the negative energy present in the house and will also purify the house’s environment before the beginning of Shravan month.
Our school celebrated this festival on 30th July 2019 by displaying the project showing the tradition and customs of Hindus.
Lit. Club 8th to 10th
The first session of the literature club was held on Wednesday, 17th July 2019 in Room no .15 of I.E.S Katrap Vidyalaya.
The session started with a brief introduction to aims of the literature club and the basic difference in expressions of thought and feelings in formal as well as informal settings.
Since Guru-Pournima had been celebrated just a day earlier, children presented shlokas in praise of various Gurus and their blessings. The audience understood the importance of a proper and channelized way to achieve education and enlightenment.
Children organised a quiz on eminent literateurs and general knowledge for Hindi.
In tune with the event of Guru-Pournima, students presented a song in praise of the Guru. A short quiz on the great and eminent authors of Marathi Literature and festivals was held.
Students also recited inspirational sayings on the occasion.
For English, a quiz on spellings was held for commonly misspelt words. Riddles with hints were also posed.
A short skit using Puns to create humour was presented. The different usages of phrases made it very interesting.
Guru Poornima is the day on which people worship and respect our guru. Indian people hold great respect for their Gurus. The word itself holds immensce importance and stature. It is celebrated on full moon day in Hindu month of Ashadh (June to August). In our school it was celebrated by displaying the project on 16th July 2019, which depicted the ancient Gurukul system as well as the present schooling system.
Guru Poornima Celebration by 5th to 7th STD students (LITERATURE CLUB)
Guru Purnima (Poornima) is a spiritual tradition in Hindu culture dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers, who are evolved or enlightened humans, ready to share their wisdom, with very little or no monetary expectation, based on Karma Yoga. It is celebrated as a festival in Nepal, India and Bhutan by the Hindus, Jains and Buddhists. This festival is traditionally observed by Hindus, Buddhistsand Jains to revere their chosen spiritual teachers / leaders and express their gratitude. The festival is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha (June–July) as it is known in the Hindu calendar of India and Nepal. The festival was revived by Mahatma Gandhi to pay tribute to his spiritual guru Shrimad Rajchandra .
As per our academic festival celebration Ashadhi Ekadashi is first feast celebrated in our Katrap Vidyalaya on 11th July 2019. It was celebrated with great enthusiasm. A project was displayed by the teachers. A palki was decorated beautifully with flowers. Students dressed as “Warkaris” participated in dindi procession. Different Aarti of Lord Vitthal were sung and students were ask to dance and also sing. Students enjoyed the celebration alot. Peanuts and sugar cubes were distributed to the children as Prasad. Overall it was celebrated with great enjoyment and pomp.
21st June,2019 was celebrated as Yoga Day, to make children aware of the importance of Yoga in our day to day life, to have a healthy body and peaceful mind. Yoga Asanas were performed under the guidance of an yoga expert Mr. Patil.
