Marathi Bhasha Divas was celebrated in honour of the Marathi language and in keeping with the Birth Anniversary of Dyanpeeth Award Winner Poet late V.V. Shirwadkar alias Kusumagraj.
Every year, February 27th is celebrated as ‘Marathi Bhasha Diwas’.
The celebration of Marathi Bhasha Diwas is a reflection of the pride that the Marathi-speaking Population holds for their Language and Cultural Heritage.
The Main Focus of this Celebration was to promote Maharashtrian culture among the students of I.E.S Katrap Vidyalaya.
The Students presented various cultural events based on Marathi History, Language and Literature. They also recited Poems and Abhangs respectively.
Special week was observed in the month of February. Activities on different concepts like Shape day, Colour day, Flower day, Fruit day, Go green day, Balloon day were conducted to give the students hands on experience of concepts. Students had a good time participating in the different activities.
Grandparents day was celebrated on 31st jan. 2024. Singing competition was organised for them. All the Grandparents had a wonderful Joyous time participating in the competitions organised.
Fancy dress competition was held on 19th Jan. Students of Sr. KG and Balvarg students dressed as Insects, Jr. KG, Motha Shishu students were given the theme Fruits and Mini KG students came dressed in various Mythological , characters, fruits, insects. Students enthusiasm and parents efforts were commendable.
Annual Sports were conducted between 10 to 12th Jan. Students actively participated in the events like Running race, Book balancing, Musical chair. Frog jump, Stringing the beads,
Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held on 27th December 2023, in the school.
Students were dressed in red and yellow. The programme started with information about Christmas and why is it celebrated.
The event ended with cheerful Christmas greetings as the students danced to the melodious tunes of ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘We wish you a merry Christmas.’ The dazzling entry of Santa Claus added to the joy and excitement of the students. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. It was a joyous and amusing programme for everyone.
All the students came in colourful dresses and a wonderful festive atmosphere was created on the day of Diwali celebration. School premises were decorated with lanterns and festoons.
Students had a joyful time colouring the rangoli designs and outline drawings of Lantern. Diwali sweets were distributed to the students and festive greetings were exchanged..
Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across India. The name ‘Deepavali’ literally means an ‘array of lights’. To make the students understand the importance of Diwali, I.E.S Katrap Vidyalaya had a celebration in school on 7th November 2023.
Teachers explained the importance of Diwali, the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Children performed variety of activities like diya decoration, lantern making and garland preparation.
The monthly theme "Animal World" was depicted by displaying a project , whereby our students enjoyed the Jungle safari ride. Enactment Activity was done by wearing Animal face mask adding to the students excitement and joy.
Navratri, a vibrant and auspicious Hindu festival, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in various parts of India. It typically spans nine nights and ten days and is dedicated to the worship of the Goddess Durga, who symbolizes divine femininity and the triumph of good over evil. Navratri celebrations are marked by colorful rituals, devotional music, dance, and an overall sense of joy and spirituality.
Navratri was celebrated with gusto by I.E.S Katrap Vidyalaya on 21st October, 2023. The students had come dressed in their best traditional Indian attire, they had enjoyed dandiya dance.
Students enthusiastically participated in the teachers day celebration by giving short speeches and enacting as their teachers.
It was a day full of joy for our tiny tots dressed as Krishna and Radha having a wonderful time singing and dancing. Stories of Balkrishna were narrated explaining the importance of sharing and unity.
Krishna Janmashtami, an auspicious Hindu festival, was celebrated with great fervour on 6th September in our school to mark the birthday of Lord Krishna, who is said to be the Purna Avatar or complete manifestation of the supreme cosmic energy. Janmashtami celebrations are incomplete without Dahi Handi. The students were overjoyed when natkhat Kanha scrambling upon his friends who formed a pyramid reached the handi and broke it.
This way, the event ended on a really happy note leaving a big smile on every face.
Teachers' Day in India is celebrated on 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a renowned scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice-President, and second President of independent India. He was born on 5 September 1888. As an educationist, he was an advocate of edification and was a distinguished envoy, academician, and above all a great teacher.
Dr. Radhakrishnan became President of India in 1962. He was approached by some of his friends and students who requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday on 5 September. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan responded, "Instead of observing my birthday discretely, it would be my pompous privilege if 5th September is scrutinized as Teachers' Day". Such a request coming from the President of India clearly showcased Dr. S. Radhakrishnan's affection and dedication to teachers. From then onwards, India celebrates Teachers' Day on 5th September.

Our School celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan, on 29 August 2023; to commemorate the bond of love between a brother and sister. To celebrate this festival of Rakshabandhan, the students tied rakhis to each other.
There are many benefits that monsoon brings to India Some of them are: • It boosts the agriculture in India. Infact, the whole agriculture of the country depends on the monsoon. • It recharges the ground water level of the country. • It replenishes all the water reservoirs.
A variety of activities like making paper Boat, Drawing Pictures, Food Activities...were conducted between 21st August to 25th August 2023. School has organized a fun-filled rain dance wherein the sweet earthy smell, the tiny droplets and then the splash of rainfall made all the children enjoy the true flavor of the monsoon season. The vibrant and colorful raincoats added a spectacular sight to the activity.

Grandparent's bedtime stories are an inevitable part of a kid's childhood. Grandmother of one of our students was invited to narrate stories to our kids which added to their joy and happiness. Students presented greeting cards as a token of love
Puzzles enables a child to develop problem solving skills. Our students got involved in the Farm animals puzzle given to them which ultimately will help them to develop fine motor skills by picking up the correct pieces and also develop their Cognitive skills.
Guru purnima was celebrated by narrating stories., displaying project on the importance of Guru Shishya relationship Significance of values like obedience, respect of teachers and elders was explained.
The celebration of Guru Purnima is marked by spiritual activities and may include a ritualistic event, Guru puja, in honor of the guru or teacher. Gurus are believed by many to be the most necessary part of life. On this day, disciples offer puja or pay respect to their guru. In addition to having religious importance, this festival has great importance for Indian academics and scholars. Indian academics celebrate this day by thanking their teachers as well as remembering past teachers and scholars.
Traditionally, the festival is celebrated by Buddhists in honor of the Buddha, who gave his first sermon on this day at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, India. In the yogic tradition, the day is celebrated as the occasion when Shiva became the first guru, as he began the transmission of Yoga to the Saptarishis. Many Hindus celebrate the day in honor of the sage Vyasa, who is seen as one of the greatest gurus in ancient Hindu traditions and a symbol of the guru-shishya tradition. Vyasa was not only believed to have been born on this day, but also to have started writing the Brahma Sutras on ashadha sudha padyami. Their recitations are a dedication to him and are organised on this day, which is also known as Vyasa Purnima. The festival is common to all spiritual traditions in Hinduism, where it is an expression of gratitude toward the teacher by his or her disciples.

Ashadhi Ekadashi is one of the most important religious festivals that is celebrated in Maharashtra. This ceremony is generally held at Pandharpur where a huge number of devotees gather to celebrate the festival. It is a religious procession festival which is held every year during the Aashaadh Shukla paksha. Generally Ekadashi is considered to be coming on each month of the year but the eleventh day of Ashadh is said to be the great Ekadashi which is also called by the name Shayani Ekadashi. During this day the devotees keep fast the whole day and they go walking in huge processions to Pandharpur. People sing chanting hymns of Saint Dyaneshwar and Saint Tukaram to pay their tribute to their God Vitthal. This procession starts in Allandi and ends on Guru Poornima at Pandharpur.

“Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is the theme for this year’s International Yoga Day 2023, which beautifully captures our shared aspiration for “One Earth, One Family, and One Future.”
The international yoga day was celebrated on 21st June 2023 in our school with great zeal.
Students practiced some of the Yogasanas and meditated for some time on the occasion of International Yoga day, Significance of exercise and Yoga was explained to the students.
15th June 2023 The reopening day of the new academic year was full of excitement as teachers waited eagerly to welcome the tiny tots. School premises were decorated beautifully and a welcome token was given to the kids. SR.KG students enjoyed the colouring activity given to them.
