Raman Young Scientist Innovation Award (RYSI) Competition

Venue: Dr.C.V. Raman's house at Bangalore
Shlok Darekar of 6th Marigold got selected for the finals, among 100 students across India (more than 6500 entries and 25000 submissions were there). Final was held at Dr. C. V. Raman's house at Bangalore.
The topic was Biology and given on the spot. Shlok made a project of Reflex action by using magnets and models (material were also provided by them on the spot).
It was a great experience for him.

MSSA U-10 Football Competition (Knock out Match)

It is rightly said, "Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen."
This time the Under 10's made it happen.
Mainkean won the MSSA U/10 Football Competition Knock out Match against St. Anne's High School, Orlem, Malad by 1 - 0. The goal was scored by Yuvraj Satra from Grade V. -
MSSA Football -Under 14 Boys - Quarter Final Match

Every end is a start to a new beginning.
At the end of the tournament all we need to do is review every stroke and every move, seeing what we can learn from it.
Lost by 2- 0 against Rustomjee Cambridge International School, Dahisar in Quarter Final Match for MSSA Football Under 14 Boys with which the league comes to an end. The students gave them a tough fight. Excellent performance and well played with 4 Shots hit to the post and back but couldn't convert. With this end, we have secured the 8th position in the chart among the 21 Schools.
Indeed rightly said, "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, what matters is what you learn from it." -
Inter IES Football (Boys)

Venue: Long Ground, IES MVM.
It is rightly said, "Sportsmanship is when you walk off the court and people really can't tell whether you won or lost, when you carry yourself with pride." And the pride includes the hard work resulting into their being the Runner Ups for the Inter IES Football Tournament.
Boys won the Semi Finals against IES Mulund School (Marathi Medium) with 7-0. The goals were scored by Swayam Shetty from IX D (5 goals) and Krish Karia from IX D (2 goals). They lost in the Final Match against IES Mulund School (English Medium) by 1-0 during the penalty shoot-out. -

IES Manikeans team won the Match of MSSA League Group Stage against C. P. Goenka School by 5-0 and all the goals were scored by Swayam Shetty from IX D.
Indeed a well deserved victory and success.

IES Manikeans promise to learn to get back harder with each fall. With this fall in the DSO Division Under-14 Boys Football Match Quarter Final against Udayaachal High School, Manikeans would put in their best efforts to get back with a bang.

When you promise something, you must fulfill it and Yes IES MANIK VIDYAMANDIR kept their promise by Defeating St. Lawrence High School, Kandivali.
In 1st half of Match Manikeans were down with 1-0 Goal line but then as the 2nd half started Swayam Shetty Scored a Goal and then the Manikeans Score Line was 1-1 Draw.
And the Match turns into Penalty Shoot-out…
And Manikeans gave their best by Scoring 3 Penalty Shoot into the Net out of 5.

Manikeans once again proved by Scoring all 5 Penalty Shoot into Net.

Reliance Foundation Youth Junior's Boys Football

Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war.
With no regrets but a learning experience, the students of IES Manik Vidyamandir lost in the Reliance Foundation Youth Junior's Boys by 3-1 against CNM School. The goal was scored by Swayam Shetty from IX M.
Indeed a well fought battle. -
DSO Football Under-14 boys - 1st Match

Success is the time to Re-define our Goals and Failure is the time to Re-define our Methods and Yes IES MANIK VIDYAMANDIR BANDRA Under-14 Boys DSO Game Time Score 1-1 Draw.
Scored by Swayam Shetty on the Last Minute a Dynamic Indirect Free Kick given inside the penalty area MVM Captain Swayam Shetty converted into Goal with wonderful kick and Full time Result was 1-1.
After the full time, match went to a Penalty Shoot-out.
Once again Manikeans Proved it by Scoring 4 Goals

Also Captain of MVM team, Swayam Shetty saves 3 Goals of Podar International IB School in the penalty Shootout.

CISCE National Throwball Tournament - Under 17 Girls category
11th to 13th October 2018
Venue : Sacred Heart High School, Ludhiana, Punjab
Two students, Ms. Ananya Khandagale & Ms. Niharika Acharya from IES Manik Vidyamandir, were selected for the CISCE National Throwball Tournament, in the Under 17 Girls category.
In this CISCE National Throwball Tournament, the Maharashtra Under-17 Girls team played against Karnataka Under-17 Girls team. Maharashtra Under-19 Girls team played against Karnataka Under-19 Girls team.
Maharashtra Under-17 Girls team secured the Championship Trophy & the Maharashtra Under-19 Girls team secured 1st Runners up under the coaching and guidance of Mr. Nagesh Bhise as a team manager and Cassandra D’Souza as a coach.
Ms. Ananya Khandagale from IES Manik Vidyamandir has been selected for the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) National Throwball Tournament.
Mr. Nagesh Bhise has been once again selected as a team manager by SGFI for the Under 19 Girls team.

Gizmo Geeks 2018

Venue : Lilavatibai Podar School, Santacruz
Lilavatibai Podar High School hosted an annual interschool technofest “GIZMO GEEKS 2018”. Students from various schools participated with an opportunity to invent, create and research. There were 16 events organized by the host school of which our school participated in 9 events. This event had various competitions based on technical knowledge. All the teams were allotted with a Team Buddy and Team Volunteer to guide the students in various events.
All the events were linked one after the other. Topics were disclosed at the time of competition. The events in which our school participated were:

MSSA Football Under-16 Boys - 2nd Match

Venue : St. Xavier's Ground, Parel
Defeat is declared not when you fall, but when you refuse to stand again.
This draw against Holy Cross, Kurla in the MSSA Football Team Under 16 Boys was not a draw but a tough fight for stake where in the first half it was indeed a cut throat competition. During the second half Krish Karia scored a goal from the top of the box. Nevertheless, it went as a draw with both the teams scoring one goal.
Though, not a win win situation but the students of IES Manik Vidyamandir proved that they fight to the last to make it a success.

With the extra ounce the students of IES Manik Vidyamandir choose to prove their worth in future as against their loss today in the AISM 16 Boys Football Match against Parle Tilak ICSE by 3-4

The goals were scored by Swayam Shetty from IX M and Maulik Rane from X L.
