15th August, the great day for the Indian people as we celebrated our 73rd Independence Day. To remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be a part of India, our tiny tots celebrated Independence Day on 14th August 2019. Teachers explained the importance of celebrating Independence Day to the children. They arrived in the costume of chacha Nehru, Subhashchandra Bose, soilders and other freedom fighters. They enjoyed patriotic songs. Teachers also explained about the service rendered by soldiers for country. "It's because of the hard struggle and sacrifice of the soldiers that we rest in peace at home. So the teachers and students gave a big salute to all the soilders".
Coconut Day and Rakshabandhan was celebrated on 14th August 2019. Children brought different things made from coconut and its tree i.e. dry coconut, crafted thing from coconut, rope, doormat, broom and carpet etc. Children arrived in colourful dress. Teachers explained its immense importance to human life. Festival of Rakhshabandhan is one major occasion of celebration between brothers and sisters. Rakshabandhan was celebrated by our tiny tots by tying a holy thread, the sacred rakhi string on their wrist and marked tilak on forehead. Children enjoyed songs through DLP.
Diya gives us light and lightens our life. Deep Pooja was performed on 1st August 2019 with the lamps brought by the children under the guidance of our Principal Mrs. Asha Jadhav Madam. A prayer 'SHUBHAN KAROTI KALYANAM AAROGYAM DHANSAMPADA' was recited by the children and the significance of the light and types of Diyas were briefed by the teachers to the children. Kids enjoyed the story of diyas. A beautiful project was displayed. ' The light of the lamp drives out all the evils and darkness and welcomes new brightness into our life' said our Madam Mrs. Asha Jadhav.
International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2019 (Friday) with zeal and enthusiasm. Representatives of Patanjali Yoga Shibir demonstrated various asanas and pranayama exercises. Students as well as staff enthusiastically participated and performed all asanas meticulously.
To make them feel welcome and happy IES K.G, Balodyan & English Medium Primary School gave them a surprise by arranging a Doremon mascot. The mascot interacted with kids and shake hands with them. He explained to the students how school days are the best days of life and attending school is essential. He also performed dances on songs thereby making the kids realize that school is fun and they can look forward to it every day.
IES Mulund English Primary School celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival on 14th August. Students tied rakhis on each other's wrist forging the bond of love and protection among themselves. Smt. Asha Jadhav ( Headmistress of IES K.G, Balodyan & English Primary School. Mulund – East ) tied rakhis on the wrist of her whole faculty as a gesture of good will and love.
To honour and respect fathers, we celebrated Father's Day on 28th June 2019. Fathers of the tiny tots were invited for this function. Children prepared Greeting cards for their lovely father. Mrs. Shubha Modak was the speaker for the day. She spoke on 16 Sanskasr in details. She also focused on Balsanskar, and discussed the different values in Joint and Nuclear family. She thanked all father parents for giving their valuable time for the same. Its important to celebrate this day because it’s a day which makes the child show his gratitude to his father for all his care, sacrifices and love.
A lecture on parenting was arranged for the parents of primary section on 29th June. Smt. Kanchana Pansare (Special educator & master in History ) was invited by Our Sandhya Madam. Smt. Pansare highlighted on the topic of student parent relation and study techniques. She also stressed on how to deal with different parental problems faced in day to day life. She provided solutions to many difficulties faced by parents.

To bring about the awareness among the girls of std V to VIII (Eng. & Mar Medium) about the good touch and bad touch, safety measures and Personal defence, a guidance giving lecture was conducted by police station staff members by Mr. Mahadik & Mr. More Rajendra (Confidential Police Officers) & Mrs. Saika Yadav, Mrs. Pratiksha Jadhav. (Lady Head constables)
On 21st June 2019, on account of International Yoga Day, to increase the awareness about physical & mental fitness, students were made to participate and perform various ‘ Yoga Asanas’. It was brought into effect with the help of Ambika Kutir Yoga Shibir Organisation.
