21/06/2020 : International Yoga Day Celebration
Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. It embodies unity of body and mind; thought and action, harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and well-being. International Yoga Day was celebrated at I.E.S Manik Vidyamandir on 21st June, 2020 by going digitalamid the COVID-19 pandemic.A video on Yoga Asanas was uploaded for the students to view. The video included demonstrations on warm up sessions and easy asanas. Students uploaded videos of their yoga performance and also participated in an online quiz session.

21/06/2020 : International Yoga Day
Since 2015, International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st June. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in his UN address suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world.
The Primary Section of IES ManikVidyamandir celebrated the International Yoga Day during the online sessions.

19/06/2020 : National Reading Day / Week / Month Celebrations
National Reading Day was celebrated on 19th June to honour the father of the Library Movement, the late P.N. Panicker. The P. N. Panicker Foundation in collaboration with the government took the initiative to promote the culture of reading and spread the message of ‘Read and Grow’ among all the citizens of the country. Students took part in the month-long reading programme by narrating stories of great personalities from Indian history, reading out book reviews and reciting poems by any war poet in their virtual classrooms.

Standard Reading Programme I, II, III Poetry recitation by students: Topic – India IV, V Students can tell a story from Panchatantra or Jataka Tales The primary section of IES ManikVidyamandir celebrated National Reading Week. The day is celebrated in honour ofthe Father of India’s Library Movement - Puthuvayil Narayana Panicker. The country honours the man who not only initiated libraries in his Home State, but was in fact responsible for the cultural movement to advocate reading in the state of Kerala. We celebrate National Reading Day in honour of the man. Born on March 1, 1909, he passed away on June 19, 1995. His death anniversary is hence celebrated as National Reading Day in his memory, his marked contribution to the culture of reading and in consequence to the universal literacy rate (100%) in the state of Kerala in 1990.

‘The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all comes from nature.’
World Environment Day was celebrated on 5th June, to mark environmental awareness among the people. On the eve of World Environment Day, the students at ManikVidyamandir took part in atree plantation drive by staying indoors.

It’s time to wake up. To take notice. To raise our voices.
It’s time to build back better for People and Planet.
This World Environment Day, it’s Time for Nature.The primary section of IES ManikVidyamandir celebrated the World Environment Day on 5th June, 2020. This time was different as students and teachers celebrated from their own homes - online.Teachers of Grades 1- 5 showed thestudentsdifferent videos and short films related to the environment. Students enjoyed watching those videos and realized why we should take care of our Mother Earth.
