31.08.2019: Intra School Competitions
Intra School Competitions for the Pre-Primary students of MVM and Orion were held at IES Orion ICSE on 31st August 2019. Students from Nursery, Jr. and Sr. KG were selected on the basis of the first round which was conducted at their respective schools on 7th August 2019.
Competitions held were as follows:-
1) Nursery: Colouring within limits.
2) Jr.KG: Clay moulding.
3) Sr.KG: Drawing and Colouring a scene.
The children wholeheartedly participated in the competition. The competitions were judged by Ms Swapnali Mahadik, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialised degree in digital media graphics and 3D animation. She is the owner of Bloomfields Pre-Primary School, Navi Mumbai.
The judge appreciated the efforts taken by the children, teachers and parents. -
29.08.2019: Mothers’ Day Celebration
To show love and respect to mothers and to celebrate the bond of everlasting love and affection, the tiny tots of Pre-Primary section celebrated Mothers’ Day. Through audio visuals, songs and general talk teachers inspired the children to do good deeds which would make their mothers happy. To express their gratitude and to bring a smile on their beloved mother’s face, the little ones passionately made beautiful cards with the help of their teachers.

27.08.2019: Ganesh Festival
The much awaited festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm throughout the pre-primary section. On this auspicious day, all the children came to school in colourful attire. A warm welcome was given to Bappa with joyful chants of ‘Ganapati Bappa Morya.’ Children recited shlokas with prayerful hearts and invoked the blessings of the Lord. The teachers expalained the significance of the festival, and emphasised on eco-friendly ways of celebrating the same. The children exhibited their creative skills by moulding the clay into artistically made Ganpati idols. After the puja, prasad was offered to everyone.

23.08.2019: Gopal Kala Celebration
Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami that denotes the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the tiny tots of the Pre Primary section. The students came dressed as Radha, Krishna, gopikas and gwalas which gave a traditional touch to the entire celebration. The main attraction was the breaking of the ‘Dahi Handi,’ which was tied at a convenient height for them. Our little ones also danced joyfully to their heart’s content as they cheerily said, ‘Govinda Ala re Ala!’ Teachers explained the significance of this festival through a project display and audio visuals. Nursery and Jr.KG children prepared headgear with a feather on it, where as Sr.KG children prepared colourful flutes. Sweet poha, was distributed as prasad, to everyone.

14.08.2019: Independence Day
India’s 73rd Independence Day was celebrated by the tiny tots of the Pre Primary section with great enthusiasm, thrill and patriotic fervour. Through a project display and audio visuals, teachers gave the children facts on the Indian flag and the freedom fighters who laid down their lives to achieve this freedom for our country. The little ones poured out their hearts when they sang to the tune of patriotic songs like ‘Nunha Munha Rahi Hu’ and ‘We shall overcome.’ They enthusiastically participated in bunting making activity which was displayed in the corridors.

06.08.2019 to 10.08.2019: Monsoon Hungama Week
The tiny tots of Nursery, Junior and Senior experienced the joy of monsoon during the ‘Monsoon Hungama Week.’ Children were involved in different fun activities like paper folding, drawing, painting, sticking as well as colouring worksheets related to rain, rainwear, rain creatures and rain food. Teachers made the tiny tots sensitive to the environment, through rhymes, songs and audio visuals. Stories were narrated to emphasise upon the importance of water and our responsibilities, as citizens, towards conservation of the same. Their role in this was also explained. They had a wonderful experience when they were taken for a walk in the rain wearing their raincoats. Sharing a few glimpses of the activities done.

05.08.2019: Nag Panchami
Nag Panchami, a festival in which snakes are worshipped, was celebrated in the Pre Primary section. A project depicting this festival was displayed. Teachers explained to the students, the importance of the snakes, in the life of the farmer. The celebration involved, the nursery children making clay snakes, Junior KG using paper plates and Senior KG using coloured paper for making of snakes.

03/08/2019: Dental Checkup
A Dental checkup camp was organized for the Pre Primary students to promote the importance of good oral hygiene and also to find out the prevalence of any dental problems in them. The camp was carried out by a team of professional doctors of ‘Sabka Dentist.’ Parents accompanied their children for the check up. On completion of the dental checkup each student was given a summary report of the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan. The camp turned out to be very beneficial for the students.

01/08/2019: Lokmanya Tilak Punyatithi
Punyatithi Din of our great national leader Lokmanya Tilak was observed in the Pre Primary section. To inculcate the noble values of patriotism, students were told about his great work in the freedom struggle of India and his effort to bring unity among the masses. Senior KG students spoke about this great freedom fighter. They also repeated the slogan ‘Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it.’
