Deep Puja was celebrated on Ashad Amavasya day to welcome the blessed month of Shravan. It is believed that the lighting of diyas and lights will ward off the negative energy present in the house and will also purify the environment before the beginning of Shravan month. Our tiny tots brought decorated diyas which were neatly arranged and lit. The children joined their hands in worship, recited sholkas and took the blessings of Ashta Lakshmi.

30/07/2019 Puppet Show
Puppetry is an effective medium of teaching young children. The topic ‘Fruits’ for Junior KG and ‘Vegetables’ for Senior KG was reinforced through an enthralling puppet show. It was a wonderful experience for the little ones who thoroughly enjoyed the show. They were encouraged to eat fruits and vegetables which are healthy and nutritious for growth.

24/07/2019 Cleanliness Drive
Cleanliness drive was organized in the pre primary section. This was to create awareness among the students about the importance of cleanliness. The students performed simple tasks like dusting and cleaning the classroom tables, chairs, doors, toys and play equipments as well as keeping the things in their proper places. Teachers explained the importance of hygiene through audio visuals and power point presentation. The students thanked the maushis for keeping the school clean. They also promised to keep their house, surroundings and city clean. It was a unique experience for the little ones.

20/07/2019 Talent Contest for Parents
A Talent Contest for the parents and their ward was held in the Pre Primary Section. This was to strengthen the bond between the school and them by involving them in various school activities. It was an excellent platform which would be cherished by them. The categories for the showcasing of their talents were Dance, Singing and One act play. The themes were versatile in which the participants spoke eloquently. Each dance showcased its own unique story and the melodious singing created a pleasant atmosphere. The judges for the event were Mr. Mahen Maradia from Saif Creations who judged the Dance contest and Mr. Selvin Fernandes for Singing and One Act Play. Prizes were given to the best three performers in each category. To make this event a memorable one for them and as a token of love the contestants received a special mug with the school logo and their group photograph embossed on it.

Tasmai sri Gurve Namah.This sholka says all about the Guru. Guru Purnima is a spiritual day dedicated to the Gurus (teachers), who are considered to be enlightened human beings. Like every year, Guru Purnima was celebrated in the Pre Primary, to give honour and respect to the teachers. An assembly was conducted and teachers spoke on the importance of the Guru. Children recited shlokas and spoke a few sentences about this day. With the help of the audio visuals, teachers narrated stories on Ekalavya and Aruni. As a token of their love and gratitude children brought flowers for their teachers and took their blessings.

15/07/2019 to 19/07/2019 Befriend Plants Week
To reinforce the topic on plants ‘Befriend plants week’ was celebrated from 15th to 19th July 2019. During the week children enjoyed watching audio visuals, listening to rhymes, songs and stories. On 17.07.2019 a planting activity was conducted for Jr. and Sr. KG where in children brought seeds, soil and empty containers for the activity. Through this hands on experience, the children learnt about germination of a seed, needs of a plant, its various parts, uses and importance. They were encouraged to grow more plants and take care of them. To promote healthy eating habits children were served hot sprouts usal on 19.07.2019. They soaked the pulses the previous day and on the next day relished eating the tasty usal with bread and chappatis.

12/07/2019 Ashadhi Ekadashi
Ashadhi Ekadashi the 11th lunar day of the Hindu month of Ashada which falls in June or July was celebrated with great enthusiasm by our tiny tots. Teachers spoke about the significance of this holy day through stories, video clippings and a project display. Children came dressed in traditional attire as Lord Vithoba, Rukmini, warkaris and carried the palkhi in a dindi procession all over the school premises. They sang Abhangs along with their teachers and danced in a group praising Lord Vishnu. The students also spoke a few sentences on this auspicious festival. Prasad was distributed to all the children after the dindi procession.
