24/10/2019: Diwali Celebration
Diwali, the festival of lights was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm by the Pre-primary children. The classrooms were decorated with paper lanterns, diyas and rangolis to make the festival livelier. Children had come dressed in festive clothes and danced to the tune of party songs. The teachers gave an informative talk on the festival, and the value of ‘victory over evil’, ‘Safe Diwali’ and saying ‘No to crackers’ was explained to them. The children made beautiful drawings depicting the festival, on their slates. Snacks were distributed to children, which they relished. Diyas painted and decorated by the children were given as Diwali gift. Everyone wished each other ‘A Happy and Safe Diwali.’

19/10/2019: Supermarket Set up
As a learning experience for children, an activity of a Supermarket set up was organized in the school. Junior and Senior KG students along with their parents participated enthusiastically. Nursery students and non participating junior and senior KG students, who acted as buyers, came along with their parents to encourage their friends. Few parents had also come dressed up as vendors to motivate their children. To attract the customers some children portrayed their marketing skills by going around with their products and calling out loudly. The children and the parent’s overwhelming response were noteworthy. Diwali festive season being round the corner, the buyers were thrilled to buy the items displayed creatively. Through this hands on experience, the children gained knowledge on, how buying and selling of goods using cash transaction take place. The idea of carrying a paper bag to buy things and saying, ‘No to polythene bags’ was encouraged through this event. It was a joyful event wherein parents, children and teachers participated with zest and zeal.

18/10/2019: Vegetable Market Set Up in Nursery
It's a known fact that role play helps in better comprehension of the unit/topic. Keeping this in mind, as part of their learning experience, a vegetable market set up was displayed in the Nursery class. Children learnt about the world around them in this experiential way. Nursery children brought a few vegetables, to display in their market. Some children came dressed as vegetable vendors. Children used paper /cloth bags for shopping in their market and enjoyed the activity.

14/10/2019 to 18/10/2019: Farm Buddies and Ocean Friends Week
A variety of activities, related to farm animals and ocean creatures were conducted during the week, for the Pre-primary students, thus enhancing their learning. To make the topic interesting teachers showed PowerPoint presentations, video clippings, read out stories and sang songs. Awareness about pollution and its effects on the ocean creatures and farm animals was explained. A fancy dress on ‘Farm Buddies’ for Jr.KG and ‘Ocean Friends’ for Sr.KG was also organised wherein children came dressed as per their topics. They spoke about the character they were dressed as with a lot of enthusiasm and confidence. An activity, to make topic related projects, based on the principle of “learning by doing”, with the materials brought from home, was an enriching learning experience for the children.

10/10/2019: Field Trip to Nature’s Basket
As a part of Sensorial learning, a field trip to Nature’s Basket at Hill Road, Bandra was arranged for the Sr.KG students. It was a wonderful place for children to be made aware of and learn about different kinds of foods and other things available there. The idea of buying different consumables, authentic fruits, vegetables, milk products and groceries, helped in creating general awareness and observation skills. The children were excited and thrilled to walk through the different food sections and see the exotic fruits, vegetables and the different variety of dairy products. On their visit to the store, they were made to identify the types of foods found there. They also learnt where foods came from before they arrive at the market store (from plants and animals). They were shown different sections of the market store (fresh fruits & vegetables section, grain section, cosmetic section, meat/dairy/frozen food section, bakery, and canned foods.) They were also explained how things are bought, billed and paid for. It was a joyful experience wherein the children wished to visit again.

07/10/2019: Dussehra Celebrations
Our values and traditions are imbibed in our children when festivals are celebrated. One such value which we learn from Dussehra festival, the “Victory of Good over Evil” was told to the children through the story of Navratri. A project on Dussehra depicting the importance of this festival was displayed. Children offered flowers to the symbol of Goddess Saraswati. A Show and Tell activity was conducted on flowers that added to their knowledge. Children danced to the tune of garba songs to celebrate this festival.

03/10/2019: Annual concert
The Pre-Primary section celebrated the Annual Concert with great zeal and enthusiasm. The little stars were very excited and perfectly dressed in their traditional costumes depicting the theme, “World Heritage and Traditions of the World.” We were honoured to have Ms Amrita Rajpal, Mumbai Territory Head of the Early Childhood Association India and Co-Founder of Chrysaellect, as the Chief Guest for our function. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest escorted by the dignitaries. After the lamp lighting ceremony the programme began by invoking the blessings of the almighty, in the form of a prayer song, by the Senior KG students. This was then followed by a welcome song. The concert showcased the talent of our children in a musical drama, “The Remarkable Journey”, where in children not only delivered dialogues confidently but also performed on different dances depicting the traditions of various countries. Our tiny tots mesmerised the audience with their spectacular performances. The proverb “All is Well That Ends Well” was apt when the programme was concluded with our National Anthem.

03/10/2019: The Annual Concert
Students of Grades 1 to 9 participated with full enthusiasm in the Annual Concert which was held on 3rd October at Pracharya B. N. Vaidya Sabhagriha, Dadar.
This year the theme of the concert was “Festivals around the World” where a colorful presentation of different festivals was showcased which was indeed a feast to the eyes. Various skills like speech and drama, music, dance etc. were exhibited by the students, which encourage self-reflection and also stimulate their thought processes.

01/10/2019: Gandhi Jayanti
The birth anniversary of the Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi was observed in the Pre – Primary section. The phrase "See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil" which is adopted worldwide as a message of peace and tolerance was explained to the children using flash cards depicting the three monkeys and their sayings. An Informative talk was given to children on his philosophy of non-violence and truth. His belief that all people should be equal and that they should live together in peace was explained to them. Some children also narrated stories on our beloved bapuji.
