OCEAN FRIENDS WEEK 2023-24

To explore the beauty of the aquatic life, “Ocean Friends Week” was organised for IES Orion Sr.KG. students from Tuesday, 28th November 2023 to Friday, 1st December 2023.
The objective of organising this special week was to make the students aware of the most fascinating facts of aquatic animals and the importance of Oceans. Students were given an insight into different types of aquatic animals through art, craft, presentations, games, songs and stories. Along with fun activities, teachers also explained how Ocean pollution has become one of the major problems to our aquatic animals. Due to ocean pollution most of the species are getting extinct or endangered.
Students made projects on Ocean Friends and also shared their valuable thoughts on different aquatic animals and how we can contribute towards saving aquatic life. Students enjoyed participating in the Fancy Dress where they came dressed up as a sea creature and spoke about it. “Each one of us can make a difference. Together we can make a change”. Let us all protect our ocean life.

FARM BUDDIES WEEK 2023-24

IES Orion Jr.KG. section conducted Farm Buddies Week from Tuesday, 28th November 2023 to Friday, 1st December 2023. Teachers introduced each farm animal in detail for e.g.: cow, pig, hen, horse, goat, sheep etc. with their habitat, young ones, their sound or cries, their food, and their features, how they are useful to us in various ways through PowerPoint Presentation, flashcards and animated videos.
Throughout the week students were taught various farm related songs like “Farmer in the dell...”, “Old Mac Donald had a farm...” which are student’s favourite numbers.
Students enjoyed participating in the Fancy Dress where they came dressed up as a farm animal and spoke about it. A project on farm animals was set up by the teachers so that our students could observe and relate it very well with the topic. Students made a project on farm animals which were displayed in the class. To develop students’ language skills, they were given an opportunity to speak on the topic of farm animals. Thus, Jr.KG. students learned about farm animals in a holistic manner.

Educational Trip to Statue of Unity 2023-24

IES Orion, for the first time, organized an educational trip for the students of std 4th and 5th to Statue of Unity for 2 nights and 3 days. Children experienced and enjoyed the back-and-forth train journey through Shatabdi and Vande Bharat. The trip improved the process of information gathering, as students were able to step outside their imagined perceptions to collect their experiences by visiting various sites like Amul Dairy, Valley of Flowers, Memorable Museum, Audio Visual Gallery and Statue of Unity.
This trip provided the practical experience that persuaded students to gain firsthand knowledge. The trip also motivated the students to be independent and responsible. They departed home with wonderful and happy memories, which they will cherish forever…

DIWALI CELEBRATION 2023-24

The tiny tots of IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated the festival of Diwali on Thursday, 9th November 2023 with great enthusiasm. Students were dressed in traditional attire. Teachers explained the importance and significance of Diwali through an informative PowerPoint Presentation and animated story videos.
The Diwali celebrations at school often mean a festive look with Diya’s and paper lanterns adorning the classrooms and corridors. The activities permeated the school premises with an atmosphere of togetherness and hope.
The young students proved that creativity and talent do not have boundaries. Students decorated the Diya’s with colours and stickers. Besides sensitizing students about the ill-effects of crackers, the guidelines of environment-friendly options for celebrating Diwali were also shared with the students. The entire presentation filled the hearts of all the students with the spirit of Diwali.
Our little Orionites enjoyed dancing on Diwali songs. Tasty Diwali Savouries were relished by our Kindergarteners. Students enjoyed the Diwali celebrations wholeheartedly.

PARENT-CHILD TALENT CONTEST 2023-24

Parent-Child Talent Contest provides immersive opportunities for parents to bond and have fun with their children. IES Orion is very keen on involving parents with their children in such contests to nurture the talent and strengthen the bonding between them. Parent–Child Talent contest was conducted on Saturday, 4th November 2023. There were three different types of contests where parents and children had participated.
1) Singing
2) Dancing
3) Playing Musical InstrumentsThroughout the competition, all the participants showcased their talents, exhibiting remarkable skills and creativity. All the participants mesmerized the audience with their outstanding performances. The panel of esteemed judges evaluated the performances based on criteria such as creativity, presentation and skill level. The Parent-Child Talent contest concluded on a high note, leaving participants and attendees with a sense of joy and accomplishment. The event successfully achieved its objective of promoting family bonding through talent and creativity.

PAJAMA PARTY 2023-24

IES Orion Kindergarten students celebrated Pajama Party on Wednesday, 1st November 2023. The students of Nursery, Jr.KG. and Sr.KG. wore their favourite pajamas all day long. The main purpose of this day was to have fun, relax the mind and body, to give students a break from their daily routine and let them explore new things with their friends and teachers.
Students got their favourite pillow, favourite toy and blankets to celebrate Pajama Party. The whole classroom was set up into cozy bedroom with soft beds lined up for the class.
Teacher played soft, instrumental calming and soothing music to start with the day. Teachers helped students to relax, rest and made them comfortable. Teachers narrated inspiring stories and moral based stories to them. The most enjoyed activity was cuddling their friends and jumping on the soft bed. Teachers also set an alarm to wake the students up at specific intervals. This activity was fun, as the alarm went off everyone cried out and said “Good Morning” with a sweet smile on their face.
Students were extremely excited, equally enthusiastic and happy to look forward for more such Pajama party’s in the future.
