CONVOCATION CEREMONY

Kindergarten Graduation is an amazing milestone for Sr.KG students as they are marching towards tomorrow filled with dreams. It marks a new beginning that adds new dimensions to their school life and the journey they begin towards knowledge and education.
IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated the Convocation Ceremony on Thursday, 28th March 2024 at Pracharya B. N. Vaidya Auditorium. Mr. Ashok Dugade (Retd. Executive Director of Indian Overseas Bank & Bank of Maharashtra) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the event. Sr.KG students smartly marched in the auditorium wearing their traditional attire. The programme was then followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and a prayer song and Mash up dance performed by our talented Jr.KG students.
Introduction of the Chief Guest was done by our Kindergarten teacher Ms. Urvi Borkar. Our Chief Guest was felicitated by the little Orionite of Jr.KG with a memento and a fruit basket. The Chief Guest complimented the graduates on their achievements and also congratulated the teachers for their dedication and hard work in shaping the students through education and other co-curricular activities.
Then came the most important part of the celebrations i.e., Sr.KG students walking on the dais for their Kindergarten Convocation. Their smiling faces were welcomed by rapturous applause from the audience as they received certificate of merit. Each class representative, Shivaansh Patil for Sr.KG Golden Sun, Akshat Sapre for Sr.KG Silver Moon and Vidya Mutatkar for Sr.KG Bright Star delivered the gratitude speech. All the Sr.KG graduates took an oath together for their bright future. Everyone enjoyed watching Sr.KG student’s ‘Golden Memories of the Kindergarten Section’ through an audio-visual presentation. Our little wonders of Jr.KG bid a goodbye to the Sr.KG graduates through a lovely farewell dance.
Our Kindergarten teacher Ms. Chandrika Kunder proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the melodious voice of Mr. Mayuresh Madgavkar who sang the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’. The programme mesmerized everyone who gathered for the event. It was a proud moment for the parents and the mentors as they witnessed their children surpassing their first stepping stone towards success. May God bless our tiny ‘graduates’ as they continue their education in the main stream of the school!

ANNUAL FEAST

IES Orion Kindergarten organised Annual Feast on Wednesday, 27th March 2024. Our little shining stars of Orion thoroughly enjoyed performing various fun-filled activities in the Stilt Area. Students enjoyed games like Ladder Hopscotch, Fun with Hula Hoop, Hands-n-feet Hopscotch, passing through the tunnel and aiming the ball, playing on the slide, riding tricycles and various team games. Students along with their teachers sang and danced to the beats of the party songs. Students were happy to receive a delicious take away snack box. HOLI CELEBRATION

The most colourful and vibrant festival of India – Holi was celebrated with great pomp and fervour at IES Orion Kindergarten on Monday, 25th March 2024. Holi is the festival which commemorates the victory of good over evil, brought about by the burning and destruction of the evil demon named Holika. So, the spirit of Holi taught the students to follow good conduct in life and believe in the virtue of being truthful and honest. The festival marks the end of winter and the abundance of the upcoming spring harvest season.
The importance of the festival was explained by the teachers through a PowerPoint Presentation. Teachers explained the reason of celebrating the festival ‘Holi’, how it should be celebrated and why it is celebrated by narrating a story based on Holika Dahan. Animated videos on Holi and how to make natural colours at home were shown in all the classes. Students were advised to use natural colours and to conserve water. A project on Holi was displayed and explained to the students by the teachers. Our little Kindergarteners welcomed the spring by dancing on Holi Celebration Songs.

WATER PLAY 2023-2024

Children love water play. Apart from being fun, children find water play very calming. Besides, water play helps children to develop their hand eye-hand coordination through various activities such as pouring, stirring and squeezing. Additionally, gross motor skills are also developed through activities such as splashing, kicking, wadding their limbs through the water.
All the little learners of IES Orion Kindergarten from Nursery, Jr.KG and Sr.KG enjoyed the Water Play Activity from Monday, 18th March 2024 to Thursday, 21st March 2024. Jr.KG and Sr.KG Golden Sun students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Monday, 18th March 2024. Jr.KG and Sr.KG Silver Moon students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Tuesday, 19th March 2024. Jr.KG and Sr.KG Bright Star students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Wednesday, 20th March 2024. And Nursery Golden Sun and Silver Moon students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Thursday, 21st March 2024.
All the students attired in their colourful swimming costumes, goggles, pool caps enjoyed their water play activity. Bubbling with excitement and enthusiasm, the students had a great fun while jumping in the water, splashing water at their friends and playing with floating toys. Some of them even tried to swim in their own sweet way. It was a fun-n-frolic activity and the little ones enjoyed it to the fullest.

PARENT-TEACHER INTERACTION

One to one parent-teacher communication defines the learning process and positive communication between parents and teachers which helps improve academic performance of students. Hence, one to one parent-teacher meeting was conducted for Kindergarten Section on Saturday, 16th March 2024. It was conducted to discuss the observation of growth and development of students. Parents were informed about their child’s overall progress. Important guidelines were shared by the teachers for the holistic development of the students. Parents were very encouraging and supportive, and were extremely appreciative of the efforts taken by the Management, our Respected Principal Ma’am and the teachers. They acknowledged the sincere efforts taken by the teachers in providing continuous guidance for the students.

WORKSHEETS/ART/CRAFT FOLDERS 2023-2024

This activity encourages students to explore their imagination and express themselves creatively through design and artwork. Focusing on neatness and presentability teaches students the importance of paying attention to detail and taking pride in their work. Working with parents fosters communication and collaboration skills as they discuss ideas, make decisions and share to develop various skills while engaging and enjoying creative expression alongside with their parents.
Students brought their beautifully decorated worksheets/art/craft folders in the third week of March 2024. Art and craft materials and worksheets were arranged month wise (June 2023 to March 2024) as per the subjects – Math, Language, EVS, Art and Craft work. The cover page of the folder was decorated by students with the help of their parents. These folders inculcated a sense of discipline, self-expression, achievement, responsibility, orderliness and respect for work in the students.
Three best entries from each class were declared and appreciated for the hard work by awarding prizes.
