PUPPET SHOW ON CLEANLINESS 2023-24

Students of IES Orion Kindergarten experienced the joy of watching a puppet show on Monday, 31st July 2023. A puppet show “CLEANING UP IS FUN” was organized for them. The theme of the puppet show was based on the cleanliness drive. Fascinating puppets made the kids dance, sing, and jump with joy during the show. The puppet shows not only entertained the little hearts but, also made them aware about the importance of cleanliness and motivated them to maintain clean surroundings. The puppets not only talked about importance of clean surroundings but also emphasised on following proper hygiene techniques. Thus, the puppet show was a visual treat and a great learning experience for the tiny tots.

WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY 2023-24

IES Orion Kindergarten students celebrated World Nature Conservation Day on Friday, 28th July 2023. The objective was to create awareness about the need to preserve the environment and our natural resources to keep the world healthy.
Students were explained the steps we can take to contribute to the conservation of the nature through PowerPoint Presentation. They were encouraged to keep the surroundings clean, avoid wastage of food and water, save electricity by switching off lights, fans, and air conditioners when not in use and to plant more trees to protect our Mother Earth.
World Nature Conservation Day was celebrated in an artistic way, Nursery students made a wrist band by sticking water droplet on the green strip, our Jr.KG. artists coloured a badge of Mother Earth and Sr.KG. students with their brilliant imagination drew scenic views of our Mother Earth. This depicted the love of our little champs to conserve our nature.
It was a beautiful day which ended with great satisfaction.

WORLD EMOJI DAY 2023-24

We, at IES Orion Kindergarten, celebrated World Emoji Day on Monday, 17th July 2023. Students were given information about World Emoji Day by their teachers through a PowerPoint Presentation. In addition to expressing oneself on technological devices, it is necessary for students to be more expressive in real life. The students of kindergarten celebrated this day with complete involvement and excitement.
Nursery students enjoyed by colouring smiley cut-outs and were encouraged to stay happy. Jr. KG. students were given cut-outs of circles and teachers guided them by drawing smiley on the board. In Sr. KG. teachers drew few emoticons on the board and asked the students to draw the emotion that they were feeling that day. Students enjoyed the celebration and were given the emoji activity made by them as a take away.

DEEP POOJA 2023-24

Deep Pooja is performed on the new moon day in the month of Ashad. People worship “Agni Devta” and appease the God by lighting diyas and decorating their houses. On Amavasya, Deep Pooja has gained more importance and is considered auspicious.
In order to make students aware and learn values, Deep Pooja was celebrated in IES Orion Kindergarten on Monday 17th July 2023. Teachers explained the importance of the festival through PowerPoint Presentation. Information related to the sources of light and its importance was explained by the teacher through a story.
A project was displayed on Deep Pooja. Students brought diya’s of different colours and shapes. The diya’s were lit and students offered flowers to the diyas. Teachers explained their uses especially when there is no electricity supply.
Students offered prayers to the diya’s singing the Shloka “Shubham Karoti Kalyanam” The message save electricity was given through an informative talk.

PARENT-CHILD BAZAAR 2023-24

Colours are the smiles of nature.
The Colour sale of the year rightly known as the “Parent Child Bazaar” was celebrated with great zeal and zest by our Nursery students on Saturday, 15th July 2023 in the stilt area. This bazaar was a great opportunity for our tiny tots to set up the stalls with colour co-ordinated items like Stationery, Food and Cake Stall, Fruits, Clothes etc. Parents and students showcased their talent of selling items whereas students had hands on experience on exchange of currency, recognition of colours which lead to skill development.
The remaining students of Nursery, Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. took part as the buyers. Our Principal Madam, Co-ordinator Madam, teachers encouraged and motivated these little vendors of Orion by buying few things.
The Bazaar was an excellent example of co-ordination, planning and execution. The Motto of organising this event for students to learn, to develop their overall skills was achieved, leading to a great success of the Bazaar and a wide smile with glee on our tiny tots face.

COLOUR WEEK 2023-24

COLOURS COLOURS WE SEE THEM EVERY WHERE.
Our world is filled with colours. A very important part of learning during Kindergarten years is identification and recognition of colours. To bring positivity, Colour Week was celebrated by our Nursery tiny tots of IES ORION Kindergarten from Monday, 10th July 2023 to Friday, 14th July 2023.
Students came dressed in colourful clothes as per the given schedule. The celebration began with red colour followed by blue, yellow, green, black and white. To make the celebration more inclusive, students did different activities based on the colours.
Red Day Activity: Finger painting on an apple cut-out. (Group Activity).
Blue Day Activity: Sponge dabbing on a Whale cut-out. (Group Activity).
Yellow Day Activity: Crepe paper tearing and pasting on a Duck cut-out. (Group Activity).
Green Day Activity: Crepe paper tearing and crumpling on a Capsicum cut-out. (Group Activity).
Black and White Day Activity: Sticking eyes and ears on a Panda eye mask. (Individual Activity).
In all it was an excellent learning experience for students, which enhanced their gross motor skills and visual discrimination.

BEFRIEND PLANTS WEEK 2023-24

We, at IES Orion Kindergarten, tried to nurture the planting skills and develop a habit of planting in each and every child’s mind through the Befriend Plants Week event which was organised from Monday, 10th July 2023 to Friday, 14th July 2023. Throughout the week students were engaged in various activities related to plants like singing planting songs, rhymes, planting related activities like drawing, colouring, clay moulding etc. “Befriend Plants Week” gave a wonderful opportunity to the students of kindergarten to gain knowledge through practical experience of seed germination. Planting Activity was conducted for the students of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. on Wednesday, 12th July 2023. Each student was asked to get seeds, a pot and soil from home and they experimented and learned the process of seed germination with teacher’s guidance in the school premises. Students of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. enhanced their practical knowledge about germination, its advantages, and the correct process of plantation with the help of their teachers. The students sowed the seeds, watered it, and kept the pots at the window so that their plant gets enough sunlight and fresh air. On the last day i.e., the fifth day of the week Friday, 14th July 2023 Sprouts Day was conducted for the students of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. Teachers served the sprouts to the students and the students relished the usal with great excitement. The main objective behind this event was to make children aware of the importance, the process of plantation and to inculcate in them the habit of plantation.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2023-24

where you ought to be.”The most auspicious occasion of the school, the Investiture Ceremony was held on Friday,7th July, 2023 with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The chief guest Police Inspector Crime Branch Matunga Police Station, Shri Keshav Dhondiba Wagh graced the occasion.
The inspiring and motivational words of the chief guest guided the students and the Council Members to be the role models and render their responsibilities sincerely. The outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl shared their experiences and gratitude to the Management, Principal Madam and teachers in their speech. Our young leaders took up this opportunity to do small things in a great way. The function concluded with national song.

GURU PURNIMA 2023-24

Guru ke sumiran Mantra se, nasht vighn Anant.
Taase sarv aarambh me, Dhyaavat hai sab sant.Guru Purnima is a day when student shows allegiance to the ancient yet fundamental concept of the Guru. Etymologically, the word Guru has been derived from two parts Gu- that means darkness and Ru- that is the antidote to the darkness. The word Guru means someone who takes us away from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. They have a special place in the lives of their followers since ancient times.
Guru Purnima was celebrated in IES Orion Kindergarten on Monday, 3rd July 2023. A beautiful project depicting Gurukul was displayed and shown to the students. An informative talk on Guru Purnima was given by the class teachers through a PowerPoint Presentation. Teachers narrated the story of Aruni and Dhoumya Rishi. Students learnt the values of obedience and hard work from the story of Aruni. Students recited Shlokas and received blessings from their teachers.
