Dental Check Up

A Dental check up for students of Grade 1 to 10 was organised. Students had a thorough check up done by experienced Dentists, and a proper feed back was given to each student so as to have a safe and secure dental health.

Intra School English Recitation Competition

Grade 1 to 5 students of IES Orion and Manik Vidya Mandir participated in this competition. The esteemed judges invited were Ms. Lily D’souza and Ms. Darshita Dalal. Students were judged on the parameters like content, voice modulation, confidence, presentation and expression. The children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The winners for the Intra School English Recitation Competition are as follows:

Dental Check Up

To practice proper oral hygiene ‘Dental check-up’ was conducted. The cleanliness of our student’s teeth and gums was checked thoroughly.
A team of dentists conducted the check-up. They were happy with the ‘Oral Hygiene’ of our students and the awareness that our parents have about dental health. Students were also given an insight into good oral hygiene and brushing techniques. Students promised to follow daily good oral hygiene practices at home. -
Intra School Art Competitions

Art Competitions conducted between two schools ‘IES Orion’ and ‘IES Manik Vidya Mandir’ were as follows:
Nursery: Colouring within the limits
Junior KG: Clay Moulding –Any animal
Senior KG: Drawing and Colouring ‘scenery
This event was conducted in IES Orion Dadar. Both the schools enthusiastically participated in the ‘Art’ Competitions. The first round of the event was organized in respective schools during ‘Art’ sessions. Five students from each class were selected for the final round. Art teacher ‘Mrs. Swapnali Mahadik’ (BFA with a specialization in digital media and 3D graphics and Founder of Bloomfield Pre Primary School) as a judge, selected four prizes from each section.
The prizes were given to deserving candidates from each section. The event was a great success. -
Matrudin

Mother is the name for God in the lips and hearts of little children.
Matrudin was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Students made beautiful ‘Mothers’ Day’ cards. They expressed their feelings about their mother and her importance in their life through speech and songs. Power point presentation on “My Mother” was shown to the students.

Ganesh Festival

‘Lord of Wisdom’ arrived at ‘Orion’ with great fervour. Students offered their prayers to the Lord of Wisdom and sought his blessings. Beautiful project was displayed. Students sang devotional songs, shlokas and performed ‘Aarti’. Prasad was distributed. Beautiful clay ‘Ganesha’ idols were made by students.

Janmashtami And Gopal Kala Day

‘The brave deeds of Lord Krishna inspire us to face every problem with courage and knowledge’.
‘Janmashtami’ , a birthday of ‘Lord Krishna’ was celebrated with great fervour and joy. Students enjoyed singing and dancing on Lord Shree Krishna’s devotional songs. Mock Dahi Handi was shown to them. Students offered prayers and few of them narrated stories based on the life of Krishna. Beautiful project was displayed and shown to them. Orionites were engrossed in pious dance-drama enactments on the life of Krishna.
Paper crowns were made by Nursery and Jr.KG. students and paper flutes were made by Sr.KG. students.

Independence Day

Students made tri colour buntings on 14th August 2019 to decorate the school for ‘Independence Day’. Teachers explained the importance of celebrating this ‘National Day’. Students participated in singing and dancing on patriotic songs and spoke on Independence Day. A beautiful project was displayed.

Raksha Bandhan

Students made beautiful rakhis. Delicious coconut barfi was enjoyed by them. Assembly was conducted on ‘Narali Pournima and Raksha Bandhan’ for all the sections. Students shared information related to Raksha Bandhan.

HONOURS DAY

A Proud Moment for IES ORION
The Honours Day of the first batch – 2018-19 of ICSE , was held on 9th August 2019 in Pracharya B.N. Vaidya Sabhagriha.
Shri. Tushar Guha, Founder Chairman- Nrityanjali Group, Educationist, Performing Artist, Psychologist and Corporate Trainer, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In his address, the President of Indian Education Society, Shri Arvind Vaidya, appreciated the outstanding performance of the first batch at the ICSE 2019. He encouraged the students to strive for excellence in all walks of life.
This was followed by an inspiring address by the Chief Guest, Dr. Tushar Guha. Dr. Guha lauded the efforts of the students, teachers and School for the excellent results at the first batch of ICSE Board Exams.
The top scorers of ICSE 2019 were honoured with certificates and prize money. -
Monsoon Hungama

‘Monsoon’ is loved by everyone. It’s a ‘Fun’ time for kids.
‘Monsoon Hungama’ was organized to enjoy various activities and information related to the topic, ‘Rain’. It was in a fun filled manner. Students made frogs, mushrooms, snails, rainbow and umbrellas using chart papers and paper plates. Painting by Sr.KG students. They also shared information to facilitate learning. Small skits, songs and Projects with descriptive speech on ‘monsoon’ were enjoyed by students. -
Nag Panchami

Nursery students made clay snakes, Jr.KG students made ‘paper plate Snakes’ and Sr. KG students made ‘card paper Snakes’. Beautiful project on Nag panchami was displayed. On the eve of Nag Panchmi, the story of Krishna and Kaliya, the most dangerous snake was also narrated and shown through PPT. Teacher also explained them that we have always worked towards living in harmony with its environment and so we celebrate this festival to strengthen the bond between ‘farmer and his friend snake’ who helps him to save his crops from rats and other small animals.

Deep Pooja

Beautiful project on Deep Pooja was displayed. Students offered prayers like “Shubham Karoti Kalyanum”. The message ‘Save Electricity’ was given through informative talk. Teachers made students aware of different kinds of diyas and their uses and how they are useful when there is no electricity supply.

‘SWARAJ IS MY BIRTH RIGHT AND I SHALL HAVE IT’.
As a tribute to our great freedom fighter ‘Bal Gangadhar Tilak’, teachers narrated the stories from his life. Students also shared information and narrated stories related to the life of Lokmanya Tilak. -
Puppet Show

An entertaining and informative puppet show was shown. The topic was ‘Healthy food ‘fruits and vegetables’. The significance of eating ‘Vegetables’ and ‘Fruits’ was imparted through the puppet show. It was a pleasurable experience for the Pre Primary students.
