EDUCATIONAL CAMP TO JAIPUR - AGRA

A six day tour to the scintillating cities of Jaipur and Agra was organized by IES in the month of October 2019. It was planned and accompanied by all-efficient and systematic Penguin Holidays. The trip was open for the students of Grade VI and VII. 65 Children & 6 Staff members visited the place.
The journey began on 29th October, 2019 as the enthusiastic students were all set to board the train. After the overnight train journey the group reached the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur by late afternoon. Post lunch, the students visited the picturesque Jal Mahal a fascinating location. Next day was spent by visiting unique and popular tourist places like Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Albert Hall and of course the iconic observatory Jantar Mantar.
On the fourth day the group left for Agra-the home of Taj Mahal. Enroute the tour of Agra, Fatehpur Sikri the town built by Akbar the great in the medieval times was also a stop for them. The next day was embarked by the visit to the mesmerizing ‘Taj Mahal’, another great destination for history - lovers and travellers alike. Immediately it casts its spell on anyone who lays eyes on it, you are mesmerized and captivated by the Taj Mahal’s simplistic beauty and elegance.
The next day the students bid adieu to the city and left for the capital city of Delhi early morning. In the evening after a scrumptious lunch, various groups boarded the flight at their respective timings. They departed home with wonderful and happy memories, which they would cherish forever.....

Diwali Celebration

‘Enjoying the ‘Festival of Lights’.
The time of ‘Diwali’ is one of the most festive and beautiful time of the year. Students decorated earthen oil lamps with sparklers and sequences and made them more colourful and attractive. Students decorated earthen lamps with colours and glitters. Teachers explained that instead of polluting the environment, we can avoid firecrackers and celebrate ‘Pollution free festival of lights’. It can be an eco-friendly affair this year. Don’t use electric lights. Instead, go for small earthen lamps and candles. It would reduce electricity consumption. Students promised to celebrate ‘Green Diwali’ without crackers. -
Orion Super Market

Junior KG.: ‘Vegetable market’ was set up by school. Students dressed up as “Green Grocers” and sold a variety of vegetables. Their parents and grandparents accompanied them for selling. Other parents and teachers were vegetable buyers.
Senior KG.: School set up ‘Super Market’ on the same day. Students sold different kinds of grocery items to other parents. Students enacted as marketing personnel. Their parents and grandparents were there to guide them in this activity. This event was a great success.
This activity will enhance their intellectual skills like marketing skills, knowledge about handling money and monetary transactions.

Vegetable Market : ‘Hands on Experience’

Nursery: Students dressed up as “Green Grocers” as a part of their EVS topic ‘Vegetables’. Students could see and handle variety of vegetables. They were shown different kinds of weighing scales. Some of the students and teachers enacted as ‘Vegetable Buyers’.

Flower Day – Show and Tell Activity: Nursery

Students bought various flowers and spoke about the name, colour, fragrance and its uses. To reinforce the topic, teachers imparted more information about the flowers and showed power point presentation that enhanced their general knowledge.

Dassera : Saraswati Poojan

Celebrating ‘Victory of Good over Evil’ Students brought incense sticks for ‘Saraswati Poojan’. Teachers drew the symbolic ‘Saraswati’ on the slates. Students recited shlokas to seek blessings from the ‘Goddess of Knowledge’. Goddess Amba was also worshiped for the strength and courage. All KG students wore colourful attire and had a gala time together. They enjoyed playing ‘Dandiya’ in multipurpose hall. Students relished crunchy and nutritious ‘Chikki Bar’.

Farm Buddies and Ocean Friends Week

‘Ocean Friends and Farm Buddies’ Week was celebrated with great excitement and zeal by Pre Primary section. During this week beautiful projects were displayed by teachers and students to add flavour to the topic. Fancy Dress Event was organised for the students on Tuesday 22nd October 2019.
Majority of the Senior KG. students spoke about the effects of water pollution on marine life and Junior KG. students spoke on the cruelty towards farm animals. They sang songs and watched various stories and videos about sea and farm animals on the smart board.

Field Visit

To get a hands on experience of how vegetables and fruits are sold.Sr.KG. Students visited the ‘Godrej Nature’s Basket’ at Prabhadevi , India’s pioneering food destination to provide a brighter customer experience with an assortment of finest local and international foods and highest level of service. Students were delighted to observe India’s freshest and finest food experience and customer’s 'Daily Food Delights’, be it the freshest fruits and vegetables, the finest meats, wide array of cheese, irresistible bakery products and more. This visit enhanced their learning as they observed not only selling of vegetables and fruits but also selling of different food items and a variety of other household goods under one roof. They were fascinated to hold the trolley and wanted to shop all by themselves. They were also shown the electronic billing and payment system.

One to One ‘Parents - Teachers’ Meeting

Positive parent-teacher interactions help parents, guardians, educators and students. Hence one to one ‘Parents Meeting’ was conducted to discuss their child's progress in school. Parents were informed about their ward’s overall progress .They were guided for the holistic development of their children.

Gandhi Jayanti

Assembly was organised for Pre Primary students. Students sang songs and narrated few sentences on, “My Dear Bapuji”. The stories on the life of Mahatma Gandhi were narrated by Sr.KG. students. A slide show on “Gandhi-Father of our nation” was shown to the students during school hours.

Annual Concert

The Annual Concert 2019-20 was held on 1st October 2019.
Show I: Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy S.J, Principal St. Mary’s High School, ICSE , graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Show II: Mr. Ferdinand John Bunyan, Principal Christ Church School, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Show: Std. I & II: Ms. Sulekha Talwalkar, Film and Television Actress, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Theme for the day was FESTIVALS and CELEBRATIONS. Students performed to their best abilities and made the show a grand success as parents applauded their performances with thunderous applauses.
