KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
04/04/2026
School is the first stepping stone towards a child's lifelong journey of learning, discovery, and holistic development. An orientation programme plays a vital role in building a strong partnership between the school and parents, helping them understand the importance of early childhood education and their role in nurturing young learners.
The Kindergarten Orientation Programme for the parents of Nursery and Jr. KG was conducted in the Examination Hall of IES Orion on Saturday, 4th April 2026. The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the Principal, Mrs. Smita Sulakhe, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of parental involvement during the formative years of a child's education. She encouraged parents to work hand in hand with the school in fostering confidence, curiosity, discipline, and a love for learning among children.
The Kindergarten Coordinator, Smt. Sumedha Apte, introduced the class teachers to the parents, following which an informative presentation was conducted by the Coordinator and the teaching staff. The session familiarized parents with the school's vision, teaching methodology, curriculum, daily routine, school policies, assessment practices, co-curricular activities, discipline, transport facilities, celebrations, and various initiatives undertaken throughout the academic year. Parents were also guided on how they could actively support their children's learning and overall development at home.
An online orientation programme for the parents of Sr. KG students was also conducted on the same day. The session was addressed by the Kindergarten Coordinator along with the Sr. KG class teachers, who familiarized parents with the curriculum, classroom practices, school policies, academic expectations, and the various learning experiences planned for the academic year. Parents were also guided on how they could support their children's transition and prepare them confidently for the next stage of their educational journey.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where parents were encouraged to seek clarification regarding various aspects of the school. Their queries were patiently addressed by the Coordinator and teachers, ensuring a clear understanding of the school's expectations and procedures.
