REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

IES Orion Kindergarten proudly celebrated Republic Day on Friday, 23^rd January 2026, instilling a sense of patriotism and national pride among our young learners. Our little patriots enthusiastically coloured the National Flag and creatively designed Flag Badges, expressing their love for the nation. They confidently shared information about Republic Day and the great Freedom Fighters of India, showcasing their awareness and understanding.

A well-prepared project display was arranged, through which teachers explained the significance of the Indian Constitution in a child-friendly manner. Adding to the patriotic fervour, students participated in a parade in the stilt area, marching smartly like soldiers with great enthusiasm. They saluted the National Flag and paid tribute to our Freedom Fighters, taking a heartfelt pledge to keep their beloved country India clean and green.

THANKSGIVING WEEK

“There is always something to be thankful for,” and indeed, a grateful heart has the power to invite positivity and wonders into our lives. Gratitude teaches us to appreciate the small joys and the people whose efforts make our lives meaningful and pleasant. With this beautiful thought in mind, IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated Thanksgiving Week from Monday, 19^th January 2026 to Friday, 23^rd January 2026, with the aim of instilling the important value of ‘Dignity of Labour’ among young learners.

During this week-long celebration, students expressed their gratitude towards the helpers of our society, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to the community. Community Helpers dedicate their time, skills, and energy to ensure the smooth functioning of society, and children were sensitized to respect and appreciate their efforts. An engaging and informative PowerPoint presentation was shown to introduce various community helpers. Students enthusiastically participated in singing songs, listening to stories, and watching educational videos related to the topic.

The children were also guided to understand that every profession is important and deserves equal respect. To further enrich their learning experience, community helpers such as Nurse, Carpenter, and Traffic police were invited as resource persons, helping students connect classroom learning with real-life experiences. Adding excitement to the celebration, students dressed up as community helpers and confidently enacted their chosen roles. They also shared information using various learning materials, making the concept meaningful and enjoyable. The celebration beautifully reinforced the message that when we express gratitude towards life and the people around us, life, in turn, blesses us with many more moments worth being thankful for.

ANNUAL EXHIBITION

The Annual Exhibition, "Vibrance – Designing the Next Decade," of IES Orion Kindergarten was held with great enthusiasm and excitement on Saturday, 17^th January 2026. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Sudhir Jayram Nikam, Senior Software Consultant, whose inspiring words encouraged the children to dream big, think creatively, and become confident learners of tomorrow.

The exhibition provided a wonderful platform for our little Orionites to explore, imagine, and express their ideas through engaging exhibits and hands-on learning experiences. The young learners enthusiastically showcased their creativity, curiosity, and innovative thinking through a variety of age-appropriate projects that reflected their understanding of the world around them.

The main attraction of the exhibition was the "From Ideation to Innovation: Designing Solutions for the Next Decade" project zone. Guided by their teachers, KG children confidently presented simple yet meaningful models based on themes such as healthy living, clean surroundings, smart transportation, caring for nature, and environmental conservation. Their exhibits highlighted the importance of developing good habits, protecting the environment, and using creative ideas to make the future better.

The Food Section delighted parents and visitors with colourful and nutritious food displays that promoted healthy eating habits. The exhibition also featured lively dance performances by KG children and entertaining puppet show, which filled the atmosphere with joy and excitement while providing the children with an opportunity to showcase their confidence, talent, and stage presence.

Parents and visitors were delighted by the enthusiastic participation of the tiny Orionites as they confidently shared a few lines about their exhibits. The exhibition provided the young learners with a joyful opportunity to express their ideas, enhance their communication skills, build self-confidence, and learn through fun-filled, hands-on experiences. It was a wonderful celebration of creativity, curiosity, and joyful learning.

The Annual Exhibition – Vibrance: Designing the Next Decade concluded on a memorable and successful note, perfectly reflecting its central theme, "From Ideation to Innovation: Designing Solutions for the Next Decade." The event celebrated the creativity, imagination, and innovative thinking of every Orionite, inspiring students to transform simple ideas into meaningful solutions. It reaffirmed the school's commitment to nurturing confident, curious, and future-ready learners who are empowered to think creatively, solve real-world challenges, and contribute towards building a progressive and 'Vikshit Bharat' (Developed India).

MAKAR SANKRANTI

Makar Sankranti is celebrated across various parts of the Indian subcontinent with regional variations. At Orion, the festival was observed in a unique and vibrant manner. A large, colourful paper kite was flown high in the sky with the help of balloons, carrying the joyful message: “Up go kites, minds shine bright, learning at Orion feels just right.” The sight of the kite soaring gracefully with colourful balloons was truly captivating.

To enhance experiential learning, a kite-making activity was conducted on Tuesday, 14^th January 2026. Students enthusiastically created paper kites using a variety of bright colours and joyfully participated in ground activities. They were also guided about being responsible and compassionate towards nature and pledged not to harm birds while flying kites.

Through this hands-on activity, students were introduced to basic scientific concepts related to air and the difference between heavy and light objects in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. Sesame (Til) laddoos were distributed to the students as they are a valuable source of energy during the winter season. The children were also informed that Makar Sankranti is dedicated to the Sun God and signifies the beginning of the auspicious six-month period known as Uttarayana.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

IES Orion ICSE organized its Sports Day on Saturday, 10^th January 2026. A wide variety of games and activities were planned to suit the interests and developmental stages of the Kindergarten students. Physical activities such as running, jumping, balancing, and coordination exercises were included to enhance gross motor skills, which are essential for overall physical development in early childhood education.

All Kindergarten students were given equal opportunities to participate in both flat and fun races, and they thoroughly enjoyed taking part in each event.

The Nursery Fun Race was an exciting and engaging activity where children, picked up a flower, crossed a hurdle and ran towards the finish line. This race helped in developing eye–hand coordination.

In the Jr.KG Fun Race, children ran to arrange balls in cups, crossed hurdles, and completed the race with great enthusiasm, promoting coordination and focus.

The Sr.KG Fun Race was a fun-filled challenge where students balanced a bean bag on their heads, placed it on a cone, performed a zig-zag run, jumped in and out of a hula hoop, and raced towards the finish line, enhancing balance, agility, and coordination.

As a token of participation and appreciation, all Kindergarten students were presented with return gifts by the school to encourage and motivate them in the field of sports.
