DIWALI CELEBRATION

Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated with great excitement at IES Orion Kindergarten on 17^th October 2025. The school looked festive with colourful rangoli, glowing diyas, bright lanterns, and sparkling fairy lights. Children came dressed in traditional attire, adding beauty and charm to the celebration.

Teachers shared the meaning and traditions of Diwali through an engaging PowerPoint presentation and animated stories. Students also learned about celebrating Diwali safely and in an eco-friendly manner. The little ones joyfully painted and decorated earthen diyas with colours and stickers.

Energetic dance performances on Diwali songs and tasty festive treats made the celebration even more enjoyable. The event helped students understand the values of joy, kindness, and gratitude, leaving them with wonderful memories of the festival.

FIELD TRIP TO SMART BAZAAR

Learning beyond the classroom helps children connect real-life experiences with what they study. To extend their learning on the topic “Food We Eat,” IES Orion Kindergarten organized a field trip to Smart Bazaar for Sr. KG students on Tuesday, 14^th October 2025.

The visit offered students an exciting opportunity to explore the wide range of products available in a supermarket. They observed various sections such as Fruits and Vegetables, Grains, Dairy, Frozen Foods, Bakery, Electronics, Skin Essentials, and Clothing. Teachers guided them through each section, explaining how items are selected, billed, and paid for, helping children understand how a supermarket operates.

The young Orionites were delighted to identify healthy and unhealthy food items and were curious to learn about other products people use in their daily lives. Many students enthusiastically shared their own shopping experiences, relating them to what they saw during the visit.

It was truly a fun-filled and meaningful learning experience that encouraged students to make healthy food choices while gaining awareness of the different sections and functions of a modern supermarket.

WATER PLAY

Nothing excites children more than splashing in cool water on a warm day! To bring joy and refreshment, IES Orion Kindergarten organized a Water Play Activity from Monday, 6^th October to Friday, 10^th October 2025. Each section enjoyed its turn in the pool: Jr. KG and Sr. KG Golden Sun students on Monday, Silver Moon on Tuesday, Bright Star on Wednesday, Green earth on Thursday, and Nursery Golden Sun and Silver Moon on Friday.

Water play forms an important part of early childhood learning as it enhances gross motor skills, coordination, and social interaction. The little Orionites, dressed in colourful swimwear and goggles, splashed around happily, played with floating toys, and even tried swimming in their own playful ways.

Along with fun, the children also learned basic pool safety and sharing skills. The week-long activity was filled with laughter, excitement, and cheerful memories - a perfect blend of learning and fun through play.

PARENT TEACHER INTERACTION

The Parent–Teacher Interaction for IES Orion Kindergarten was held on Saturday, 4^th October 2025, in the respective classrooms. The session served as a valuable platform for teachers and parents to discuss each child’s overall development and progress.

This interaction provided an opportunity to review students’ academic growth, participation in classroom activities, and skill development. It also helped parents understand their child’s learning patterns and areas that may need more focus. Teachers shared helpful strategies and play-based techniques to further enhance various skills at home.

The session was highly interactive and productive. Parents expressed their appreciation for the teachers’ dedication and consistent efforts in nurturing the students and guiding them throughout their learning journey.

GANDHI JAYANTI AND LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI JAYANTI

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on Friday, 3^rd October 2025, with great enthusiasm.

Through an informative PowerPoint Presentation and stories, students learned about the life, values, and contributions of both leaders. The importance of Gandhiji’s ideals and Shastriji’s inspiring slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” was beautifully highlighted.

Students delivered short speeches and shared their thoughts on “My Dear Bapuji.” Teachers encouraged them to follow the path of truth, simplicity, and high thinking in their lives.

DASSERA CELEBRATION

The spirit of festivity and devotion filled the air as IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated Dassera on Wednesday, 1^st October 2025. Festivals play a vital role in teaching children about values, culture, and traditions. Dassera, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil, reminds us that truth, courage, and kindness always lead the way.

Dressed in beautiful ethnic outfits, the students looked radiant and excited. Teachers conducted an engaging PowerPoint Presentation narrating the story of Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana, helping children understand the importance of righteousness and moral strength.

To mark the occasion, children offered prayers, flowers, and incense sticks to Goddess Durga and Goddess Saraswati. The celebration came alive as students enthusiastically played Garba, filling the hall with festive energy and joy. The vibrant Navratri project display added a traditional charm to the event.

The celebration was not just a joyous occasion but also a meaningful learning experience, inspiring young Orionites to embrace goodness, respect traditions, and celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage.
