IES Orion Celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi.
IES Orion joyfully celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi by setting up a pooja for “Orion Cha Raja”. All students participated with devotion, took darshan of Bappa, and received prasad. The celebration created a spiritual and festive atmosphere, spreading positivity and togetherness among students and staff.

Ganapati Celebration

Ganesh Chaturthi, the festival honouring Lord Ganesha the remover of obstacles and symbol of wisdom was celebrated with great joy and devotion at IES Orion Kindergarten.
On Monday, 25th August 2025, students brought clay and decorative materials to craft beautiful Ganesha idols, which were displayed for class decoration and school projects. The celebrations continued on Tuesday, 26th August 2025, as children dressed in traditional attire sang devotional songs, recited shlokas, and enjoyed Prasad.
Teachers narrated stories about Lord Ganesha, while students shared informative talks, making the event both meaningful and memorable.

WORLD SANSKRIT DAY

World Sanskrit Day is celebrated every year on Shravana Poornima to promote the use and awareness of Sanskrit, one of the oldest known languages in the world and the root of many Indian languages. The programme began with a peaceful prayer, followed by a soulful Ganesh Stotram. A Sanskrit-English conversation showcased practical language use. Students sang engaging Sanskrit songs teaching numbers and colours. The celebration ended with another serene prayer, creating a sense of unity and highlighting Sanskrit’s relevance in today’s world.

LAMBODHAR COMPETITIONS

At IES Orion, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We are always here to support your child’s unique journey, fostering confidence and growth at every step. With this view in mind, this year, IES Orion introduced the “Lambodar Mahotsav”—a vibrant celebration that blends fun, learning, and Indian culture. The Mahotsav took place in August 2025 and was open to all students from Nursery to Std. X. Competitions like Ganapati Devotional Songs, Recitation of Ganapati Sanskrit Shloka and Ganapati Story Telling Competition were organised for the students.

STD I – V HINDI RECITATION COMPETITION

A lively Hindi poem recitation competition was held at IES Orion School for the Primary Section (Std. I - Std V) on the theme of Titli, Chidiya "Barkha" " Prakriti "Hasya-Kavita" Two participants from each house from each standard participated, delighting the audience with their expressive recitals. Twenty-four, students representing all four houses participated delighting the audience with their expressive recitals. The children beautifully conveyed the messages about each topic. The young participants not only enhanced their public speaking abilities but also cultivated a greater respect for the Hindi language.

IES Orion Celebrated 79th Independence Day
IES Orion proudly celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The programme began with the flag hoisting ceremony followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Students presented patriotic songs and speeches, highlighting the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the importance of unity. The celebration filled with a sense of pride and love for the nation. Master Vyom Kulkarni Topper for IES Orion AY 2024-25 in ICSE exam) hoisted flag as he was called as chief guest along with his parents and grandparents.

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at our school. The event began with the flag hoisting ceremony, where our last year ICSE topper Master Vyom Kulkarni, along with his family had the honour of hoisting the national flag. This proud moment was followed by the singing of the national anthem and patriotic songs by students, teachers, and staff. INDEPENDENCE DAY

IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated the National Festival Independence Day on Thursday, 14th August 2025 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The Kindergarteners actively participated in making tri-colour buntings, which were used to beautifully decorate the school premises.
A special project display was arranged, and teachers explained to the students the significance of Independence Day, highlighting the struggles and sacrifices of our great freedom fighters. Children were also encouraged to appreciate the courage and dedication of our brave soldiers who continue to safeguard our nation today.
The celebration included a march-past, patriotic songs, and short speeches by the students, giving them an opportunity to express their love for the country. The young learners proudly geared up to mark this important occasion with joy, respect, and grandeur.

RECITATION OF PASAYDAN

In accordance with the instructions received from Kala Vikas Mandal, our school IES Orion (ICSE) successfully organized and implemented the recitation of Pasaydan activity chanted collectively by all students in the school premises through the PA system according to the school schedule. The event was well-organized.

GOPAL KALA

The festival of Gopal Kala, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, was celebrated with devotion and joy at IES Orion Kindergarten on Wednesday, 13th August 2025. The day began with excitement as the little ones, dressed adorably as Radha and Krishna, filled the campus with colour and charm. The beautifully decorated premises further enhanced the festive spirit.
Teachers narrated the story of Lord Krishna’s birth through presentations and videos, helping children understand the reason behind celebrating this auspicious occasion. Joyful dances around the Dahi Handi and the thrill of forming a human pyramid brought alive the traditional fervour of Janmashtami.

WORLD ELEPHANT DAY

World Elephant Day is observed on 12th August each year to spread awareness about elephant conservation and the need to protect these magnificent creatures. Elephants, often regarded as gentle giants, hold great ecological importance as they help maintain the balance of nature and enrich our planet’s biodiversity.
On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, the teachers of IES Orion Kindergarten sensitized the students about the significance of the day through an engaging PowerPoint Presentation. The session highlighted the challenges faced by elephants and emphasized the steps required to prevent their extinction.
World Elephant Day reminds us to come together with compassion and responsibility to ensure a safe and protected future for these majestic animals.

NARALI PURNIMA & RAKSHA BANDHAN

Narali Purnima is celebrated with devotion by the fishing communities of Maharashtra on the full moon day of Shravan. Fishermen offer coconuts and prayers to the Sea God, seeking blessings for safety and prosperity. This auspicious day is also known as Shravani Purnima, Rakhi Purnima, or Raksha Bandhan a festival that honours the sacred bond between brothers and sisters.
IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated this festival with great zeal on Friday, 8th August 2025. Students were shown an informative PowerPoint presentation explaining the importance and traditional customs of both Narali Purnima and Raksha Bandhan. Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, the children eagerly took part in the celebrations.
They swayed joyfully to Koli folk songs and Raksha Bandhan melodies, and relished the delicious Narali Barfi distributed to all. A special Rakhi making activity was conducted across classes, where students enthusiastically crafted colourful rakhis using different materials. Their handcrafted creations added an extra spark to the occasion.
The celebration beautifully blended culture, creativity, and joy making it a truly memorable and enriching experience for our little ones.

MONSOON HUNGMA WEEK

The arrival of the monsoon is always a joyous time for children, who eagerly look forward to wearing their raincoats, twirling umbrellas, splashing in puddles and setting paper boats afloat. To bring this rainy-day excitement into school, IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated a fun-filled “Monsoon Hungama Week” from 4th August 2025 to 8th August 2025.
A variety of fun-filled and educational activities were organised throughout the week. The children enjoyed rain-themed rhymes, songs, stories and videos. They also took part in creative art tasks such as colouring gumboots, sticking paper on corn cobs and painting snails, crafting rainbow stick puppets, and designing vibrant monsoon greeting cards using rainbow colours.
Some students took the initiative to prepare projects on the Rain Cycle and Rainwater Harvesting, and confidently presented their work to the class.
The most exciting part of the celebration was the “Walk in the Rain”, where our little ones stepped out in their raincoats and joyfully experienced the thrill of walking in the drizzle with their friends.
The Monsoon Hungama Week turned out to be a delightful combination of learning and fun, giving students a memorable and enriching experience.

FRIENDSHIP DAY

“Friendship doubles your joy and divides your sorrows”
Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August every year across the globe. At IES Orion Kindergarten, this special day was observed on Friday, 1st August 2025, to help children understand the beauty of friendship. As the saying goes, Friendship Day is a wonderful opportunity to show our friends how much they mean to us. The value of the day “Sharing is Caring” was joyfully embraced by our little ones.
Teachers of Nursery, Jr.KG, and Sr.KG classes engaged the children with heart-warming videos of the legendary bond between Lord Krishna and Sudama, along with songs that celebrated friendship. Through stories, and discussions, students learnt that a true friend stands by us in difficult times, shares our happiness, corrects our mistakes, and loves us just the way we are.
In the celebration students expressed their affection for their friends with hugs, smiles and laughter. Overall, the day beautifully highlighted the importance of friendship in their lives.

LOKMANYA TILAK PUNYATITHI

Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s 105th Punyatithi (death anniversary) was solemnly observed on Friday, 1st August 2025, to honour the extraordinary legacy of one of India’s most fearless and influential freedom fighters. A pioneering advocate of ‘Poorna Swaraj’ total self-rule. Tilak devoted his life to awakening a spirit of nationalism among Indians. He passed away on 1st August 1920 in Mumbai, but his ideas, courage, and patriotism continue to inspire generations even today.
To familiarise our young learners with the priceless contributions of this national leader, teachers at IES Orion Kindergarten conducted an informative session supported by a PowerPoint presentation. Through engaging narration and storytelling techniques, they highlighted important episodes from Tilak’s life and his relentless struggle for India’s independence.
In order to encourage active participation, Sr. KG students were invited to share their thoughts on Lokmanya Tilak. With great enthusiasm, they spoke about his iconic slogan "Swaraj is my birth right and I shall have it," and his vital role in promoting cultural events like Ganesh Utsav and Shivaji Jayanti as platforms to unite Indians against British rule.
A short story from Tilak’s childhood was also narrated, teaching the children the values of confidence, honesty, and fearlessness. The session stirred a feeling of patriotism among the tiny Orionites and gave them valuable lessons about bravery, leadership, and love for the motherland.
Through this heartfelt tribute, the young minds were instilled with pride and admiration for the great Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, whose life continues to guide and inspire the nation.
