HEALTHY FOOD FIESTA WEEK

“A healthy outside starts from healthy inside.”
It is important to inculcate healthy eating habits in students from the beginning, to lead a healthy lifestyle. Healthy Food Fiesta Week was organised online from 20th September, 2021 to 24th September, 2021 to make students aware about the fact that eating right is a key to healthy living and good eating habits go a long way in improving our health and nourishing the body. A fit and active lifestyle demands the right nutrition for the body to function.
Students were given an insight into healthy food and good eating habits through various activities in a fun filled way. Students need the stimulation of being a physical part of their learning, trying out new things and interacting through a hands-on approach.
Nursery students participated in the Healthy Food Fiesta Week by making Fruit Salad, Lassi, Corn Bhel and Peas shelling activity. Students also explored ideas and coloured worksheet on healthy and junk food.
Jr. KG students celebrated the Healthy Food Fiesta Week by making Aaloo Chaat and shared views on the topic along with their Projects.
Sr. KG students participated in the Healthy Food Fiesta Week by making sandwich using multigrain bread and also prepared props, charts and presentations while sharing their views on healthy eating habits.
Teachers explained the significance of healthy food through animated stories, presentations and songs.
“Nutrition is the only remedy that can bring full recovery and can be used with any treatment. Remember, food is our best medicine!”

Virtual Hindi Divas Celebration (2021-22)

हमारे ओरायन विद्यालय में हिंदी दिवस के महोत्सव में विद्यार्थियों का उत्साह एवं सहभागिता प्रशंसनीय थी। विद्यार्थियों ने हिंदी भाषा की पृष्ठभूमि में कवितापाठ, अभिनय, वक्तव्य, लेख आदि विधाओं में अपनी कला का उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन किया । उनके प्रस्तुतियों में उनका श्रम और उनकी कार्य के प्रति निष्ठा स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई दे रही थी ।कला पक्ष के अतिरिक्त हिंदी भाषा को पूरे उमंग के साथ स्थापित किए जाने की अर्हता का भाव पक्ष भी सफल रूप से मुखर हो रहा था । हिंदी भाषा की लोकप्रियता में उत्तरोत्तर वृद्धि ऐसे आयोजनों के चलते होती रहती है।
हम विद्यालय के प्रबंधन समिति, प्राचार्या महोदया एवं समन्वयक महोदया को तहे दिल से धन्यवाद देते हैं एवं कृतज्ञता ज्ञापित करते हैं जिनकी कल्पना एवं निर्देश ने कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाने में अहम भूमिका कानिर्वाह किया । विद्यार्थियों के उत्साह को देखते हुए भविष्य में भी ऐसे कार्यक्रम की अपेक्षा करते हैं।

HINDI DIVAS CELEBRATION

Hindi Divas is celebrated on 14th September every year with great pride and vigor. Hindi was adopted as the official language of our nation, India on 14th September, 1949 to pay tribute and to mark the importance of country’s most widely spoken language.
IES Orion ICSE Kindergarten, virtually celebrated Hindi Divas on Wednesday, 15th September, 2021. The school organised Intra-school competition with age-appropriate Art and Craft activities that were conducted prior to the celebration.
On the day of celebration, a PowerPoint presentation on Hindi Divas was explained by the class teachers in their respective classes. The presentation included information about When do we celebrate Hindi Divas, why do we celebrate Hindi Divas and how it is celebrated in schools and colleges in India.
After the presentation, an animated story video in Hindi was shown in each class. Nursery students enjoyed watching the story “Jaanvaron Ki Sair”. “Buddhimaan Haathi” was the story which was shown to Jr. KG students. Sr. KG students had a good time watching the story “Paanch Matar”.
The celebration concluded with a positive note that languages play an important role in connecting people. Teachers encouraged the students to use Hindi as a medium of conversation for the day and everyone made sincere efforts for the same.

VIRTUAL GANPATI CELEBRATION

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated annually to mark the birth of Lord Ganesha, the God of new beginnings and a fresh start. Lord Ganesha symbolises wisdom, good luck and fortune. Lord Ganesha is also called Gajanana, Ganesh, Gajadant, that are among his 108 names.
Keeping this excitement in mind, we welcomed Lord Ganesha in school and on the common platform of Microsoft Teams on 9th September, 2021.
The e-invites were sent to the grandparents, parents, teachers and students.
The celebration started with a brief introduction and a devotional song by our enthusiastic students. The tale of birth of Ganesha was beautifully narrated by our coherent students which was accompanied by a graceful dance performance. Stories from life of Ganesha which had an impactful meaning was enacted by our talented ones with some more melodious tunes. Flawless and energetic dance performance took the celebration to a higher note. The event was concluded by emphasizing on the importance of eco-friendly Ganesha and the preventive measures to be taken while celebrating the festival.

GANPATI CELEBRATION

Ganesh Chaturthi is a festival celebrated with much fervour across India. It is important to remember that Lokmanya Tilak was the architect of this mass celebration. Lord Ganesh or the elephant deity is considered the God of wisdom and new beginnings. Thus, people across the world worship Him before initiating any work. It is believed that he removes obstacles and blesses the course of the believer.
The true essence of Ganesh Chaturthi lies in the fact that the devotees worship Lord Ganesh to rid their lives of all the sins and substitute them with knowledge and wisdom.
Like every year, on Tuesday, 7th September, 2021, we welcomed Lord Ganesh in our school with great zeal. We performed arti and took His blessings. IES Orion decided to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi on Thursday, 9th September, 2021 during online session.
Sthapana of Lord Ganesh in school was shown to the students through a video. It was followed by a pre-recorded celebration link. Information of Lord Ganesh was shared with the students through this pre-recorded celebration link. It was followed by a short-animatedstory of how Lord Ganesh taught Lord Kuber a lesson. How Ganpati festival can be celebrated in an Eco-Friendly manner was also shared with the students. They sang devotional songs and performed ‘Aarti’. It was followed by a beautiful dance performance by our Kindergarten students.
Every year we conduct clay moulding activity for Kindergarten Section. IES Orion believes that this creative, social concept not only teaches students about environment and art, but also enables students to gain insight into our Indian Culture. Teachers taught the students how to make Ganpati Bappa’s idol using clay. Right from moulding to decorating, everything was done by our little wonders with little assistance from their parents.Beautiful clay ‘Ganesha’ idols were made by students.

TEACHERS’ DAY

Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5th September every year. It is the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was the first Vice-President and second President of Independent India. He was a wonderful teacher who taught in various colleges of University of Mysore and Calcutta. He was awarded Bharat Ratna for his great contribution to our country.
This year’s unique virtual Teachers’ Day Celebration was carried out on a common platform of Microsoft Teams on Monday, 6th September, 2021 during the online class session. The respective class teachers of Kindergarten shared an informative PowerPoint Presentation on Teachers’ Day. It was followed by an animated video on “Why do we celebrate Teachers’ Day”.
Students understood the importance of a teacher or a guru in their life. On Teachers’ Day, students appreciate and express gratitude towards teachers who hold a significant place in our lives.

Virtual Teacher’s Day Celebration

The parents are first teachers and teachers are second parents who shape the future of students. So, to show gratitude towards the teachers’ efforts and guidance as a mentor, students feel that it’s an opportunity to express their love towards their teachers’, so they celebrate Teachers’ Day every year.
This year also, for making the teachers feel special, the students of IES Orion decided to celebrate Teachers’ Day. The programme was held on 6th September, 2021 at 12:15 pm.

Intra SchoolDanceCompetition for A.Y. 2021-22in IES Orion and MVM was held on 4th September 2021. The Chief Guest was Miss Sejal Hate, a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. The program began with a short introduction of the Chief Guest explaining the rules and regulation. The competition started as the students were very enthusiastic. The day was a great success as all the students were able to perform their best due to the efforts taken by their parents in arranging the costume, props and materials needed for their wards. All the participants gave their best. The program ended with a vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, the students and the parents for making this day a memorable one.

At the beginning the dance teacher, Ms. Vishakha More checked the clarity of the music/song by asking the students to play the song on which they are going to perform.
She welcomed the Secondary Coordinators from both the schools, Mrs. Madhulika Nigam (from Orion) and Mrs. Tuhina Roy (From MVM), the Judge, Mrs. Disha Bhalekar and the participants.
Then the competition started with the introduction of the Chief Guest/Judge, Mrs. Disha Bhalekar, who is a trained Bharat Natyam Dancer.
A Power Point Presentation was used to display the rules and regulations for the event and also all the rules were read clearly for the participants.
It was ensured that all the participants followed the rules and regulations throughout the session.
After that, all participants performed their dances one after the other as their names were called out.
After the graceful and stunning performances, Mrs Disha Bhalekar , the Judge also expressed her happy feelings and words of advice with the participants.
The online photographs were taken for all the participants after their performances.
The event then concluded with words of motivation by both the coordinators.
