30/08/2022 : Ganesh Festival
The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is a much awaited time of the year. Especially this year after the two years of the pandemic. The grand celebration started with great devotion and enthusiasm. Our tiny tots were eagerly awaiting "Ganpati Bappa’s" visit to our school. We could feel the festive spirit all around us!
A warm welcome was given to "Bappa" with loud chants of "Ganapati Bappa Morya".
Teachers narrated stories and showed videos on Ganesh ji. Children recited shlokas and invoked His blessings with their teachers and peers. To enhance their creativity children moulded clay in the shape of Lord Ganesha. After the prayers and darshan in the aesthetically decorated pandal, prasad was distributed to all the children.

30/08/2022 : Std. II Assembly- National Sports Day
The assembly was conducted by the students of Std. II Daisy and Marigold. The theme for the assembly was “The International Sports Day”. The students began the assembly with the thought of the day and the news. They spoke about the significance of the National Sports Day, gave a description of Major DhyanChand and shared information about Hockey and the importance of playing different sports in daily life. The group of students presented a dance showing the spirit of the game.
The winners of the Inter School Competition ‘Vandana’ were awarded with the certificates.
The assembly was concluded with the ‘Swachhta Pledge’ taken by the students observing the Swachhata Pakhwada from September 1, 2022.

29/08/2022 : Mother’s Day
All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my mother’ - Abraham Lincoln.
Mothers are so very special; they love and nurture their families unconditionally. To teach children to respect and cherish their mothers, a card making activity was conducted. Children made cards and presented them to their mothers. Using art techniques like painting, drawing, colouring, sticking and origami. Songs and story telling sessions were conducted to emphasise how important mothers are in our lives and how, we must always value them. Our little buds enjoyed the activities and we at school encouraged them to always obey, cherish and seek blessings from their mothers. -
29/08/2022 : National Sports Day
National Sports Day was celebrated in IES Manik Vidyamandir on 29th August, 2022 to mark the tradition of Indian Sports and to pay rich tribute to the great Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand. The theme for the National Sports Day 2022 was ‘Sports as an enabler for an inclusive and fit society.’
Names of the houses were as follows:
1) Red House(Aryabhatta) – Vishwanathan Anand (Famous Chess Grand Master)
2) Blue House(Varahmihir) – Abhinav Bindra (Famous Shooter)
3) Green House(Gargee) – Sunil Chettr (Famous Football Player)
4) Yellow House (Maitreyee) – Sachin Tendulkar (Famous Cricketer)Students from Std. 1 to 10 were taken to the ground where Athletics were organised for girls and boys separately. Six winners from each Standard were selected i.e. 3 boys and 3 girls. 607 students from the Primary and Secondary Section participated in the event. Certificates were given to the winners in class by their Class teachers. The best house was awarded with a trophy.

29/08/2022 - 30/08/2022 : Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration
Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated on 29th and 30th at IES Manik Vidyamandir with great zeal and enthusiasm. Ganesh Sthapana was done on 29th August 2022 in the biology lab. Ganesh Ji was cheerfully welcomed with music and drum beats. Students from Nursery to Std X were taken one by one for Ganesh- Darshan.
On 30th August, 2022 a video depicting the importance of Hartalika, the story of birth of Lord Ganesha and significance of every part of Ganesha’s body was shown to the students.
Ganapati-arti had been performed and sung by teachers and Omkar sir twice a day for the both days.

27/08/2022 : Vistaura Competition
Students of I.E.S Manik Vidyamandir participated in “Vistaura” an Interschool Competition organised by Gundecha Education Academy (Oshiwara) on 27th August, 2022. Students from grades II to X enthusiastically competed with other schools in the diverse skill-based programmes.

23/08/2022 : Std III Assembly National Slavery Day
The assembly was conducted by Std III Daisy and Marigold. The theme for the same was “International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition”. It began with thethought of the day followed by the news. The importance of Human Rights and the end of slaveryand dehumanization was explained by the students, followed by a poemand a song in Hindi.
At the end the prize distribution was done for Sanskruti Kala Darpan and Inter House Hindi Recitation Competition.

Rainy days are fun and even more joyful when the fun is with our peers. The rainy season is a much-awaited season as it brings children closer to nature, - the puddles, rainy creatures and corn is much awaited time. Children enjoyed watching various rain songs and videos. Activities pertaining to the rainy season were conducted throughout the week.

18/08/2022 : Gopal Kala Celebration
The birth of Shri Krishna was celebrated by the students of kindergarten. It brought together devotion, creativity, enjoyment and fun. The children were excited and enthusiastic to celebrate this festival with their classmates and teachers. The Sr. KG class prepared the flute of Lord Krishna using different art techniques like drawing, colouring, sticking and paper rolling to develop their finemotor skills. The Jr. KG made a crown/mukut of Lord Krishna by colouring the peacock feathers on it. They then creatively stuck it with glue. The little ones in the Nursery dabbed using paints for the crown. For the celebration day children came dressed up as Radha, Krishna and gopis. They also had the "Krishna Dahi Handi" celebration. The children watched songs and videos on Krishna together too. These celebrations will surely go a long way down the memory lane for, teachers and the students.

15/08/2022 : 75th Independence Day
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated on Monday, 15 August 2022. The programme started with the Flag hosting by the chief guestMst Arin Chandurkar, ICSE topper of MVM. It was then followed by the President's speech, read by Mst. Shubham Dalvi of std VIII. The students from the Primary Section sang a melodious patriotic song. Mst. Soham Ajgaonkar of std X, spoke about the significance of the day in Marathi. The programme was then taken ahead by a patriotic dance, performed by the girls of std X. The programme concluded with a patriotic group song by the teachers which was followed by the National Song.

12/08/2022 : Independence Day
Independence Day brings about the patriotic spirit in oneself and love for the country, the zeal to work for it and to rise for its honour is inculcated at a very youngage in our kindergarten. Patriotic songs were played and a Power Point Presentation made by the teachers was explained, emphasizing the significance of this day. The leaders, who sacrificed their life lives for our country’s freedom, were honoured. The children promised to work and respect their country and its property and other fellow beings too. They stuck tricolour buntings on strings as an activity which was proudly hung in the corridors as a part of the celebration.

12/08/2022 : Hindi Inter House Recitation Competition
Inter-house Hindi Recitation Competition for Primary Section was held on 12th August, 2022. The Competition for Std III – V was held in the stilt area. The competition for Std I and II was held in the examination room. Three winners from each Std were selected.
The preliminary round was conducted in the respective classrooms.

09/08/2022 : Raksha Bandhan
Raksha Bandhan is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. To strengthen this bond we made beautiful rakhis. We used decorative threads, stars, mirrors, pearls and flowers for making the rakhis. The children creatively stuck the material after skilfully arranging it.
The festival was celebrated with complete enthusiasm and zeal. As these celebrations teach children the true spirit of our Indian traditions. The children heard songs and danced in class. Information on Narali Poornima was given to the students. The school gave scrumptious coconut barfi to the children who loved the sweet and happily ate it.

02/08/2022 : Inter House Dance Competition
The Inter House Dance Competition for the A.Y. 2022-23 was conducted on Tuesday, 2nd August, 2022 in the stilt area. The elimination roundwas conducted in the respective classrooms on 25th July,2022.
The competition was judged by one of our teachers.
Stds. 1 and 2 the theme was Folk Dances of India
Stds. 3,4 and 5 the theme wasFestivals of India.

02/08/2022 : Nag Panchami
To provide children with holistic leaning and inculcate education with all round development in school and in order to imbibe in our children our culture and traditions, we celebrated Naag Panchami. Through a PowerPoint presentation, the teachers narrated the story as to why we celebrate this festival. The teachers explained to the students with pictures, how snakes are important for our farmers and the ecosystem. It is our duty to protect them. All the sections in Kindergarten prepared creative snakes with mud and clay. They enjoyed the sensory exploration and creativity.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak popularly known as Lokmanya Tilak is one of the most pioneered freedom fighters and social reformers of our country. To make children aware of our rich history and pay respect to this braveand fearless leader. Lokmanya Punyatithi was celebrated in school. Children came dressed as Lokmanya in his attire and spoke a few sentences eloquently. As they repeated his famous speech “Swaraj is my birth - right and I shall haveit’’, itItstirred the air in the classroom with national fervour. Thus, we honoured the memory of this fierce leader and his spirit and, promised to love and serve our motherland. Children learnt through the PowerPoint presentation shown by their teachers, about his newspaper ‘Kesari’and the ‘and ‘Maharatta’ How annual festivals in memory of Shivaji and Lord Ganesha were started by Bal Gangadhar Tilak. These festivals were organized to build a national spirit among the common people and make them aware about freedom from the British Raj.
