30/09/2022 : Health Food Fiesta
To inculcate healthy eating habits among children, it is very important that we teach our kids about food, nutrition and positive eating habits right from an early age.
Knowledge regarding food improves our lifestyle and brings changes in it. It also creates awareness regarding different food types. Food does not only nourish our bodies but also affects the way we think. It also helps children, froma young age, to make healthy food related choices
The teachers not only taught the children about healthy food but also taught them about junkfood and the consequences of eating it. JR KG also had an Aloo Chaat Making Day as their current topic was related with raw and cooked food and vegetables.
The JR KG children were very excited to prepare the chaat. They peeled the boiled potatoes with their teacher. They learnt the important steps to be taken before like washing hands and using cleanutensils while cooking and followed them to the hilt. They looked like little professional master chefs with their chef caps and aprons. The chaat they made not only looked colourful but fresh, healthy and scrumptiously delicioustoo.
SR KG made lip-smacking Corn Bhel in the class. They also made a delicious and healthy Bhel from corn as their topic was also related to food grains. They truly enjoyed the activity and enthusiastically prepared the Bhel with different ingredients that are used for seasoning and garnishing. They enjoyed mixing it all together and eating their preparations.
The endearing thing was watching the little children complementing each other about their food presentation. They also prayed before their meals and ate together. Yes, it was truly an incredible learning experience.
