22.10.2018 to 26.10.2018 Farm Buddies and Ocean Friend week
To reinforce the topic of farm and Sea animal a special week on Farm buddies for Jr.KG and Ocean friends for Sr. KG was organized. Throughout the week various activities were conducted such as stories through glove puppets, video clippings, action songs and art activities.
Fancy dress was conducted where children came dressed as farm animals and ocean creature’s they were very excited and confident to speak about their character. This helped them build their Language skill.
Children brought material to assemble to make projects on the same; it was indeed a wonderful fulfilled week.

17.10.2018 Dussehra Celebration and Saraswati Poojan
Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dussehra festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Children came beautifully dressed in colourful traditional attire.
The significance of the festival that good always triumphs over evil was told to the children.
Children recited shlokas prayed and offered flowers to goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, music and art.
Later children danced on the energizing famous garba songs.

15.10.2018 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi: Secondary Assembly
Class: 7
A special assembly was conducted to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji. It was to acknowledge the values and principles followed by Gandhiji.The assembly started with the school prayer, followed by Thought of the day and News. The students of grade 6 presented a very inspiring poem in Hindi based on the Gandhian values. A speech in Marathi was delivered by a student of grade 7 highlighting Gandhiji’s values of truth and non-violence. A skit was presented by the students of grade 7 depicting the iconic ‘Dandi March’ which imbibes the importance of non-violence. Students were also given information about the ‘Civil Disobedience Movement’ which was one of the significant movements launched by Mahatma Gandhi in the course of India’s freedom struggle, through a short narration. The assembly came to an end with the ‘Bhajan- Vaishnav Jan To’, which was a part of Gandhiji’s daily prayer routine.

15.10.2018 Field trip to Nature’s Basket
Field trips are not only lot of fun but they are also very valuable learning experiences for young children. Sr.KG students visited Nature’s Basket, Bandra to get hands on experience.
Children were excited to explore the store. It was a wonderful place for children to see different kind of food items. They were introduced to the best international and domestic fruits, vegetables, cold cuts, meats, cheese, organic foods, meals, exotic, rare ingredients and packaged food from around the world.
Children had a good time exploring and identifying the food items. It was an enriching experience for them to also know about billing and cash transactions.

15.10.2018 Reading Day
Reading Day was celebrated at IES Manik Vidyamandir on the 15th October 2018 for class 1 to 9 to commemorate the birth anniversary of our late president, Dr. Abdul Kalam.
The celebration emphasized to inculcate love for reading amongst students and teachers.
Students of Class 1 to 9 read books, articles and magazines in various languages for half an hour along with their teachers and enjoyed doing so.

12.10.2018 Annual Concert
The school celebrated the Annual Concert amidst great zeal, vibrancy and elation. Ms. Bela Kotwani Director of Kidsology Educare Pvt Ltd CEO and Principal of CosmicKids International - Preschool and Day Care Center was the Hon’ble chief guest on the occasion. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest escorted by the dignitaries.
The show comprised of colourful variety of performances and compeering by the budding talents. The theme of the programme was based on healthy food. After the lamp lighting ceremony children of Jr. KG performed a prayer dance invoking the blessings of the almighty followed by a welcome song, the tiny tots of nursery cutely danced on the medley of fruits and vegetables songs. Students of Sr.KG put up a one act skit “Eat Healthy, Stay Healthy” giving the message about the importance of healthy food, Solo performances boosted confidence of the children and the highlight was the Rajasthan folk dance, a visual delight.
All the children danced perfectly with the rhythm keeping the audience glued .The last programme for the evening was an orchestra by the little rising talents. The show was ended by the grand finale...

06.10.2018 Intra School Competitions
Intra school competitions were conducted at IES Manik Vidyamandir Pre-Primary section.
The judge for the day was Ms Naimita Raval Art teacher from Jasudben M.L School.
MVM and Orion Pre-Primary children participated. The students from Nursery, Jr and Sr.KG were selected on the basis of the first round which was conducted in their respective schools on 25th September 2018.
Competitions held were as follows :
1) Nursery: Colouring within limits.
2) Jr.KG: Clay moulding.
3) Sr.KG: Drawing and Colouring.
Children participated in the competition with full enthusiasm and zeal.The event was a grand success.

02.10.2018 Gandhi Jayanti Celebration
A special assembly was conducted on 2nd October, 2018 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Students of grade 6 to 8 took part in the celebration. Students were told about the importance of Gandhi Jayanti and briefed about the day’s programme. There was prayer session followed by few devotional songs by Omkar Sir.
Thereafter a Prabhat Pheri was organized wherein students held placards depicting the various principles of Gandhiji like Cleanliness, Dignity of Labour, and Compassion for the Downtrodden. The Prabhat Pheri started from the school premises for a distance of 3 kms and back. Once again the students assembled in the School premises and sang few devotional songs. Master Nirmohi Mhadgut from VII D gave a short speech on Mahatma Gandhi which he had performed for Mani Bhavan Competition.

01.10.2018 Gandhi Jayanti Celebration
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated a day prior, on 1st October 2018 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji “The Father of our nation” with great zeal and patriotism.
Children were exposed to the life and struggle of Mahatma Gandhi through effective video clippings and songs. Teachers taught the values - speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil through the flash cards with three monkeys and their saying. Children also sang the beautiful bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram” with whole devotion along with their teachers.
Few children came dressed as Gandhiji and his followers and enacted a scene of his prayer service and sang the bhajan ‘vaishnav Jan to Tene Kahiye je”. Some students shared anecdotes on Gandhji’s life. Cleanliness is next to godliness and service to mankind is the first step towards reaching it was his belief. Keeping this in mind, a colouring activity was conducted. Children had to colour a picture which gave the message of ‘swachh Bharat”
Thus, in these little ways children paid their homage to their great leader.
