Creativity is Intelligence having fun!
IES Orion, online Annual Exhibition – Vibrancewas held on 28th February, 2021 between 6 and 7:30 pm.
The chief guest for the event was Mr. Vishal Inamdar, a renowned actor and director.
The theme of the Exhibition was Safety, Suraksha, Saunrakshan. Students and teachers of Std. 6 to 9 made online presentations comprising skits, dance and songs in various academic subjects as mentioned below-
From safety precautions at home– food, electrical equipment to Chemistry laboratory, various safety measures and tips were thrown light upon in a creative manner.
The chief guest praised the school for bringing about all-round development of children.

- Clay P. BedfordWith this belief IES Orion organized this year’s extraordinary virtual Annual School Exhibition ‘VIBRANCE’ on 28th February,2021, which was truly splendid. The theme for this exhibition was ‘Safety! Suraksha! Sanrakshan!’
The Chief Guest, who honoured the event was Mrs. Reema Salve, a well-known dentist in the city.
The entire Primary section witnessed great fun and frolic as the students and teachers put up subject specific skits, displayed projects and models created by the students under the able guidance of Principal Ma’am, Asst. Head Ma’am, Primary Coordinator Ma’am and teachers. It was a platform provided to the students to tap their hidden talent and innovatively give shape to theoretical learning. Dignified guests, parents and grandparents, appreciated the effort of the students and teachers. The event started with School safety, Sports safety followed by Road safety, Home safety, Cyber safety, Fortification, Safety from Microorganisms and ended on a positive note on Safeguarding ourselves from the Corona virus. The exhibition also highlighted the importance, significance and celebration of the 49th National Safety Day.
The school Annual Exhibition ‘Vibrance’ was concluded with the three mantras to spread awareness among the masses. It also ended with a promise to come up with another similar informative exhibition for the next year.

TOPIC: SAFETY
Exhibitions are organized to give students exposure and to increase the awareness in children in order to assimilate the safety measure better during this pandemic.
Keeping this excitement in mind, we celebrated our Annual Exhibition on the common platform of Microsoft Teams on Saturday, 27th February 2021.
The e-invites were sent to the grandparents, parents and students. Our esteemed Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Godavari who worked as a COVID warrior at NSCS COVID ward center for 3 months and was awarded a COVID warrior certificate towards her great contribution.
The program was kicked off by our brilliant Nursery students who explained us the important safety tips while eating food and playing in our surroundings. Our mindful Jr. KG students showcased safety tips related to strangers, road safety and safety measures while travelling by train and buses through an informative skit which was pepped up by energetic dance performances and detailed projects. The final touch was added by our coherent Sr. KG students who demonstrated safety measures while handling sharp and blunt objects, electrical appliances and safety measures against covid-19 through skit, Kaunrahega safe-Quiz and practical demonstration.
The event was concluded by an informative message on National Safety Week (4th to 10th March 2021 this year) through a PPT. The virtual exhibition imparted much needed safety precautions to be followed during this pandemic and highlighted the message of safety first.

Virtual Celebration of Marathi Divas

On 26th February 2021, IES Orion celebrated Marathi Divas in all Classes on online Microsoft platform during the Assembly period.
A special video was recorded and all students had participated. Whereintribute to Kusumagraj was given through poem, his life history and importance of Marathi Divas.
The information was shared in Marathi Language. The session concluded with an inspiring moral and how Marathi literature is important.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Punyatithi

Our school IES Orion celebrated ‘Veer Savarkar Punyatithi’ on 26th February, 2021. The students enthusiastically showed their interest by partaking whole heartedly in the event through virtual medium.
Their narration in PPT and video emphasized the marvellous attempts of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the Freedom- fight.
Our schoolIES Orion pays homage to this great patriot and we express our gratitude to Principal Ma'am for giving this opportunity for the celebration.

Shiv Jayanti

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was known to be the bravest heroes of all time. February 19 marks the birth anniversary of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji is dominantly celebrated in Maharashtra. People celebrate this day with pride and valour.
Keeping this excitement in mind, we celebrated Shiv Jayanti on the common platform of Microsoft Teams on 19th February 2021.
The e-invites were sent to the grandparents, parents, teachers and students.
The celebration started with the Prayer and the School Anthem and it was followed by an energetic and powerful song and dances which marked the birth of the great Maratha hero Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
It was a pleasure to see our tiny tots dancing and enjoying themselves. The Powadas, which were sung by our melodious singers.Students from the Pre-Primary and Primary Section gave information on the birth of Shivaji Maharaj such as the date, place, day and also highlighted on his childhood life. They also spoke about Shivaji Maharaj’s Gurus and various trainings he received and the information on the forts conquered by Shivaji Maharaj. The major forts such as Torana, Sinhagad, Pratapgad, Raigad, Murud-Janjira were included. The Great Escape of Agra Episode was also narrated by the students.
The event concluded by emphasizing on values and lessons learnt from Shivaji Maharaj’s life. Shivaji Jayanti is not just a festival but it is taking inspiration from Shivaji Maharaj to be like him in some way. Shivaji Jayanti reminds us of the courageous acts of Chhatrapati Shivaji which will inspire the coming generations forever.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was known to be the bravest heroes of all time. February 19 marks the birth anniversary of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji is dominantly celebrated in Maharashtra. People celebrate this day with pride and valour.
He was known for his immense contributions towards the country. Chatrapati Shivaji inspired many souls when he was alive and he will continue to motivate the youth of the country for generations to come.
Keeping this excitement in mind, we celebrated Shiv Jayanti on the common platform of Microsoft Teams on 19th February 2021. The e-invites were sent to the grandparents, parents, teachers and students.
We thank God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon this great Country and ask Him to continue to heal our land and meet our needs and we do so through the power of prayer.

The event turned out to be more joyful as our little Orionites tapped their feet on the beautiful song “Jhulva paalna baal Shivaji cha”.
It was a pleasure to see our tiny tots dancing and enjoying themselves.
Then came the most awaited moment of the event. The Powadas were sung by our melodious singers. Each Powada represented incidences from Shivaji Maharaj’s life and the way he defeated the enemies.
The students from Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Section gave information on the forts conquered by Shivaji Maharaj. The major forts such as Torana, Sinhagad, Pratapgad, Raigad, Murud-Janjira were included. The Great Escape of Agra Episode was also narrated by the students.
The event concluded by emphasizing on values and lessons learnt from Shivaji Maharaj’s life. Vasant Panchami

Vasant Panchami is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrated to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. This day is celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm. Yellow colour – representative of spiritual knowledge, is given importance on Vasant Panchami.
IES Orion family– Pre- Primary, Primary and Secondary Section came together to celebrate this festival virtually on 16th February, 2021.
The celebration included the following events Saraswati pooja, explanation on significance of Vasant Panchami, followed by a divine rendition of Shlokas and Saraswati Vandana which were sung beautifully by our Orionites and mesmerised us.
The spring of joy took over when an Orionite explained the vidhi (rituals) of Saraswati Pooja. The agenda of celebrating this festival was to motivate the students to be progressive learners, setting big goals and putting dedicated efforts as a promising & flourishing human harvest.
The entire event was marked with enthralling performances and concluded the event by seeking the blessings from Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of intelligence and wisdom.

Project Day

‘A Joy of Creation’
To facilitate learning ‘Projects’ were made by students with great concentration determination and wonderful imagination. The topics were ‘Railways and Waterways’ for Jr. KG. and ‘Airways’ for Sr. KG.
Students made projects by using materials like empty boxes, small empty boxes of soaps, ice cream sticks, bottle tops, chart papers, beads etc. All projects were highly appreciated. Students spoke about their projects in the class.
Virtual ‘Project Day’ was enjoyed by students a lot. Project making activity gave a tremendous boost to the creativity of the students.

Toy Day

Children are very fond of toys so keeping that in mind we conducted ‘Virtual Toy Day’ during online classes. Students spoke about their ‘Favourite Toys’. The name of the student was called out according to the list of the students. The time limit given was 2 minutes.
Toy day was thoroughly enjoyed by all students. They were excited to watch numerous beautiful toys on that day.
