Field trips provide students with experiential learning opportunities by connecting classroom learning to the real world. A field trip to Byculla Fire Station was organized for Sr. KG. students on Friday, 20th January 2023 to extend their knowledge on fire fighters. The objective of this field trip was to create awareness about the importance of community helpers in our lives.
The Fire fighters showed them the different equipment’s used by them and demonstrated the use of a fire extinguisher. Students watched how fire fighters use their fire truck in an emergency. They also saw the fire engine, the ladder used to reach heights, and how water is sprayed through the hose pipe to put off the fire. Our students asked many questions to the fire fighters. The fire fighters were surprised by the inquisitiveness of our students. Our students were told about the number which they can share with the elders in case of an emergency. Thus students got a hands-on-experience on fire safety.
Students thanked the firemen with a loud round of applause and a ‘Thank you’ card for the valuable service they are rendering to our community. It was indeed a learning and fun experience for the students.
