PUPPET SHOW

Puppets are children’s best friends. Their joy of watching puppets dancing and performing before them is enigmatic and enthralling. Students of IES Orion Kindergarten experienced the same joy on Friday, 29th July 2022 as the puppet show “CLEANING UP IS FUN” was organized for them. The theme of the puppet show was based on the cleanliness drive.
Fascinating puppets made the kids dance, sing, and jump with joy during the show. The puppet shows not only entertained the little hearts but, also made them aware about the importance of cleanliness and motivated them to maintain clean surroundings. The puppets not only talked about importance of clean surroundings but also emphasised on following proper hygiene techniques.Thus, the puppet show was a visual treat and a great learning experience for the tiny tots.

WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

IES Orion Kindergarten students celebrated World Nature Conservation Day on Thursday, 28th July 2022. The main objective of the event was to increase awareness about the best practices to conserve our natural resources and encourage sustainability.
Students were explained the importance of paper saving alternative. They were encouraged to keep the surroundings clean, avoid wastage of food and water, save electricity by switching off lights, fans, and air conditioners when not in use and to plant more trees to protect our Mother Earth.
World Nature Conservation Day was celebrated in an artistic way, Nursery students did Palm Painting with the message “Save Nature” and our little painters of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. with their brilliant imagination drew scenic views of our Mother Earth. This depicted the love of our little champs to conserve our nature.
It was a beautiful day which ended with the scenic drawings and great satisfaction.

DEEP POOJA

Deep Pooja was celebrated in IES Orion Kindergarten on Thursday, 28th July 2022. Information related to the sources of light and its importance was delivered through a PowerPoint Presentation.
Deep Puja, also known as Deepa Pooja, is observed on the Amavasya (No moon) day in Aashad month in Maharashtra and in some parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. It is observed to welcome the holy Shravan month.
Teachers narrated a story of the princess who never valued the importance of light. Beautiful project on Deep Pooja was displayed. Teachers explained the project in detail to the students. Students also brought different types of diyas to school. Teachers made students aware of different kinds of Diyas and their uses and how they are useful when there is no electricity supply.
Students offered prayers to the Diya’s singing “Shubham Karoti Kalyanum.” The message ‘Save Electricity’ was given through an informative talk.

COLOUR WEEK

COLOURS COLOURS WE SEE THEM EVERY WHERE. Colours play a vital role in the world we live. Our world is filled with colours. A very important part of learning during kindergarten years is identification and recognition of colours. Nursery students of IES Orion celebrated Colour Week from Monday, 18th July 2022 to 22nd July 2022. Students came dressed in colourful clothes as per the given schedule. Colourful activities were conducted throughout the week for the Nursery students. Teachers and students spoke about colours andalso sang rhymes related to colours.
Students enjoyed doing finger painting with red paint on a cut-out of an apple for Red Day. For Blue Day students learnt sponge dabbing with blue paint on a picture of a whale. For Green Day students developed their fine motor skills by crumpling green crepe paper and sticking it on the picture of green peas. Yellow crepe paper was torn and stuck on a cut-out of a banana for theYellow Day. On Black and White Day cotton balls where stuck on the cut-out of a sheep by the students.
It was an excellent learning experience for the students, which enhanced their gross motor skills and visual discrimination.

BEFRIEND PLANTS WEEK

“If you save a tree, you save a life. If you plant a tree, you plant a life. "As the saying goes, we, at IES Orion Kindergarten, tried to nurture the planting skills and develop a habit of planting in each and every child’s mind through the Befriend Plants Week event which was organised from Monday, 18th July 2022 to Friday, 22nd July 2022.
Throughout the week students were engaged in various activities related to plants like singing planting songs, rhymes, planting related activities like drawing, colouring, clay moulding etc. Students of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. thoroughly enjoyed learning and performing the action song “Ek Chhota Beej” taught by their Coordinator Madam. Sr. KG. teachers narrated the animated story, “The Lucky Seed” to the students and explained them the importance of plantation in our day-to-day life.
“Befriend Plants Week” gave a wonderful opportunity to the students of kindergarten to gain knowledge through practical experience of seed germination. Planting Activity was conducted for the students of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. on Wednesday, 20th July 2022. Each student was asked to get seeds, a pot and soil from home and they experimented and learned the process of seed germination with teacher’s guidance in the school premises.
Students of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. enhanced their practical knowledge about germination, its advantages, and the correct process of plantation with the help of their teachers. The students sowed the seeds, watered it, and kept the pots at the window so that their plant gets enough sunlight and fresh air.
On the last day i.e., the fifth day of the week Friday, 22nd July 2022 Sprouts Day was conducted for the students of Jr. KG. and Sr. KG. Teachers served the sprouts to the students and the students relished the usal with great excitement.
The main objective behind this event was to make children aware of the importance, the process of plantation and to inculcate in them the habit of plantation.

WORLD EMOJI DAY

We, at IES Orion Kindergarten, celebrated World Emoji Day on Monday, 18th July 2022. Emoticons, are popularly called Emojis. Emojis are a great way for people to communicate across language barriers and helps us to express sentiments and emotions. Every year 17th July is celebrated as World Emoji Day. Emoji Day was first celebrated in 2014 by Jeremy Burge founder of ‘Emojipedia’. It is a celebration of pictograms that bring our conversations to life. Emojis have become an important part of our day-to-day conversations as people can express a wide range of emotions through them. With the advancement in technology, people these days show great interest to stay connected via messages and emoticons.
Students were given information about World Emoji Day by their teachers through a PowerPoint Presentation. In addition to expressing oneself on technological devices, it is necessary for students to be more expressive in real life.
This day was celebrated with fun filled activities with emojis aiming to make students more expressive and enhance thinking and reasoning skills. The students of kindergarten celebrated this day with complete involvement and excitement. Nursery students enjoyed by colouring smiley cut-outs and were encouraged to stay happy. Jr. KG. students were given cut-outs of circles and teachers guided them by drawing smiley on the board. In Sr. KG. teachers drew few emoticons on the board and asked the students to draw the emotion that they were feeling that day.
Students enjoyed the celebration and were given the emoji activity made by them as a take away.

GURU PURNIMA

IES Orion Kindergarten students celebrated Guru Purnima on Wednesday, 13th July 2022. It is celebrated on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Aashad. On this day disciples express their gratitude to their Gurus.
An informative talk on Guru Purnima was given by the class teachers through a PowerPoint Presentation. They narrated the story of Aruni and Dhoumya Rishi. Students learnt the values of obedience and hard workfrom the story of Aruni.
A project was displayed for the students to understand the difference between ancient Gurukul and the school of current generation.
Students recited shlokas along with their teachers on this occasion to seek the blessings of the Gurus.

WORKSHOP ON GANESHA DECORATION AND GANAESH IDOL MAKING

Workshops for making Ganapati idols with Shadu clay and Ganapati decoration were conducted by Mr. Vivekanand Mhatre for the students of Std 1-5 on 9th and 10th July and 13th and 14th July 2022. The aim was to learn basic skills where they could be more creative. Students were excited and carved beautiful Ganesh idols and made beautiful decoration to welcome Lord Ganesha.

ASHADHI EKADASHI

IES Orion Kindergarten students celebrated Ashadhi Ekadashi on Friday, 8th July 2022 with great enthusiasm. Students came dressed in their traditional attire for the “Mock Dindi” celebration. Some of them were dressed up as Lord Vithal, Goddess Rakhumai, Varkaris and saints of Maharashtra.
The importance of the festival was explained to the students through an informative PowerPoint Presentation. The values like determination, dedication and truthfulness were inculcated through the story of “Pundalik – a great devotee of Lord Vithal”. Students carried a small Tulsi Plant and teachers explained the importance of medicinal plants.
Students enjoyed participating in the Palkhi Procession throughout the school premises by chanting “Vithal Vithal Jai Hari Vithal”. The atmosphere was filled with gaiety and spirituality. The procession ended with the distribution of Prasad to the little ones.

Investiture Ceremony

‘Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing other for the best.’
The most auspicious occasion of the school, Investiture Ceremony was held on 2nd July, 2022 with full zeal and enthusiasm. The chief guest Senior Police Inspector Shri Deepak Rajaram Chavan graced the occasion.
The inspiring and motivational words of the chief guest guided the Students Council Members to be the role models and render their responsibilities sincerely. The outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl shared their experiences and gratitude to the Management, Principal Ma’am and teachers in their speech. The function concluded with national song.
