INTER HOUSE CARROM AND CHESS COMPETITION
2024
The Inter House Carrom and Chess Competition was successfully held during the PE Periods, showcasing the talent and strategic thinking of students from classes 3rd to 10th. This event not only promoted healthy competition among houses but also encouraged sportsmanship among the participants Students from all four houses Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Topaz enthusiastically took part, with a good number of participants. The competition provided an excellent platform for students of various age groups to interact and bond over their shared interest in carrom and chess. The Inter House Carrom and Chess Competition not only highlighted the skills of our young players but also fostered a sense of community within the school.

DIWALI CELEBRATION

Let us move from darkness to light.
Diwali the festival of lights was celebrated at IES Orion Kindergarten on Monday, 28th October 2024. The school premises were beautifully adorned with colourful rangoli design, Diya’s, lanterns, festive decorations and were lit up with fairy lights creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Students came dressed in traditional Indian attire, adding to the festive spirit. The vibrant colours of their outfits reflected the joy of the occasion. Teachers explained the importance and significance of Diwali through an informative PowerPoint Presentation and animated story videos. A brief session on firecrackers safety, encouraged students to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali. Students painted and decorated the earthen Diya’s with colours and stickers. Our little Orionites enjoyed dancing on Diwali songs. Tasty Diwali Savouries were relished by our Kindergarteners.
The celebration successfully instilled the values of harmony, joy, and gratitude among the children. It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and festive cheer, leaving everyone with warm memories of the occasion.

STD II FIELD TRIP TO KESHAV SRUSTI

IES Orion organized an educational trip in association with Mr. Kini and Patel Tours to Keshav Srushti, located at Uttan village an ideal nature spot at Bhayandar. It has 200 acres of green land Students were given information through a PowerPoint presentation about the organization, the significance of the place, importance of conserving nature, preserving green cover, and the need of growing more trees. It also gave an opportunity for the students to see rain harvesting ponds, various plantations, waste management, Vermi Composting, Gaushala (cow shed). The students were taught how to make perfumed agarbatti or incense stick. The trip was an ideal way to make the students aware of the importance of conserving nature and impart knowledge through fun learning and hands on experience.

PARENT TALENT CONTEST

Parent Talent Competition provides immersive opportunities for parents to showcase their talent. IES Orion is very keen on involving parents in such contests to nurture the talent. Parent Talent Contest was conducted on Saturday, 19th October 2024. There were two different types of contests where parents had participated.
1) Singing
2) DancingThroughout the competition, all the participants showcased their talents, exhibiting remarkable skills and creativity. All the participants mesmerized the audience with their outstanding performances. The panel of esteemed judges evaluated the performances based on criteria such as creativity, presentation and skill level. The Parent Talent Contest concluded on a high note, leaving participants and attendees with a sense of joy and accomplishment. The event successfully achieved its objective of promoting talent through creativity.

WATER PLAY

To beat the heat Water Play activity was conducted for IES Orion Kindergarten students from Monday, 14th October 2024 to Friday, 18th October 2024. Jr. KG and Sr. KG Golden Sun students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Monday, 14th October 2024. Jr. KG and Sr. KG Silver Moon students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Tuesday, 15th October 2024. Nursery Golden Sun and Silver Moon students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Thursday, 17th October 2024. Jr. KG and Sr. KG Bright Star students enjoyed the Water Play activity on Friday, 18th October 2024. Water Play is an inevitable part of pre-school curriculum as it helps in gross motor development, eye hand co-ordination and also helps in vocabulary development. Little angels of Orion attired in colourful swimming costumes and goggles, enjoyed their first pool activity. Bubbling with excitement and enthusiasm, the students had great fun while jumping in the water, splashing water at their friends and playing with floating toys. Some of them even tried to swim in their own sweet way. It also taught them the basic safety measures they need to follow in the pool. It was a fun-n-frolic activity and the little ones enjoyed it to the fullest.

DASSERA CELEBRATION

AMBE MATA KI JAI! Keeping the festive spirit alive, IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated Dassera on Friday, 11th October 2024. Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning. Dassera is a festival of victory of good over evil ¬¬– an important lesson for every human being. Students came dressed in ethnic wear. An informative talk was shared by the teachers through a PowerPoint Presentation, to convey the message of victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and reinforced the message that good always triumphs over evil. Students offered incense stick, flowers, prayers and worshipped Goddess Durga and Goddess Saraswati. They enthusiastically participated and enjoyed playing Garba in the examination hall where the Navratri project was displayed. The event was a learning experience for all and enriched the young ones about our heritage and culture.

INTER HOUSE JUDO COMPETITION

The Judo Inter-House Competition was held on Saturday 5th October 2024, for primary students from Std I to Std V. This event aimed to foster sportsmanship and physical fitness among students while promoting the martial art of judo. It was to encourage participation in judo among students and to enhance competitive spirit between different houses. There were total 220 participants from primary section.

GRANDPARENTS DAY CELEBRATION

Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation, keepers of traditions, and the founders of a loving legacy. Their special love and care hold the family together. To honour their unconditional love, IES Orion Kindergarten organized Grandparents Day Celebration on Saturday, 5th October 2024 in Pracharya B. N. Vaidya Auditorium. Teachers welcomed the grandparents with a warm smile and made them comfortable in their seats. The function began with the lighting of the lamp. Our Principal Madam addressed the grandparents. She extended a warm welcome to all the grandparents and thanked them for the important role they play in the family. To make this day a special one for the Grandparents various programs were organized by the students and the teachers. The students were very excited to showcase their love for their grandparents and this was evident on their faces while they performed. Sr.KG students welcomed their Grandparents with a lovely welcome dance. This was followed by a retro mash-up dance of old Hindi film songs and a Fashion Show by our little Orionites of Jr.KG. Grandparents enthusiastically participated in all the games (Guess the Jingle Tune, Guess the Song Tune and Spot Prizes) organized for them. Their robust participation added a spark to the celebration. Sr.KG students sang a song on "Dada, Dadi, Nana, Nani". It was a moment of elation to see the happiness ushering on the faces of all the grandparents on seeing their grandchildren perform. Mayuresh Sir dedicated a heart-touching song that left the grandparents spellbound. Students of Sr.KG on behalf of all the students expressed their gratitude to all the grandparents. Grandparents Bottle Decoration Talent Contest prizes were announced. The winners were greeted with gifts, which brought a twinkle to their eyes. The main highlight of the program was the medley dance which the grandparents participated in and performed zealously. The whole auditorium was filled with joy and laughter. It created a cheerful atmosphere. All the grandparents thoroughly enjoyed themselves to the fullest.

FIELD TRIP TO SMART BAZAAR

We believe in the all-round awareness and development of students. Field trips play an important role in learning. It helps the student to link the classroom with the outside world and gives the learner hands on experience. On Friday, 4th October 2024, IES Orion Sr.KG students were taken for a field trip to "Smart Bazaar", as a part of extended learning on “Food we eat”. Our students identified healthy and unhealthy food enthusiastically. A supermarket is a wonderful place for children to be made aware and learn about different kinds of foods and other things available there. On the visit to the Smart Bazaar, students were made to identify the types of food found there. They were shown different sections of the Smart Bazaar like Fresh Fruits & Vegetables Section, Grains Section, Dairy Section, Frozen Food Section, Bakery Section, Toys Section etc. Teachers explained them how things are bought, billed and paid for. This helped them in experiencing the feeling of responsibility. Some students shared their shopping experience which they had with their parents in the supermarket. These gave the students an opportunity to see, smell and learn about commodities that are available in a supermarket and how it is purchased by people for their daily use. On the whole, it was a fun-filled learning experience for each student. These experiences will help our students to make the right choice when it comes to healthy eating.

MANIBHAVAN PRIMARY SINGING COMPETITION

On October 3rd and 4th, 2024, Primary section participated in a vibrant Manibhavan singing competition. The school arranged a comfortable to-and-fro bus service to Manibhavan, ensuring smooth transportation. Accompanying the students were Mr. Mayuresh and Mr. Jitendra, the dedicated music teachers, who guided and supported the participants throughout the event.
The competition showcased a range of talents, with students performing various patriotic songs. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm. The event not only encouraged musical skills but also fostered teamwork and confidence among the students. Overall, it was a memorable experience for everyone involved.

STD III FIELD TRIP TO KESHAV SRUSTI

On October 2nd, 2024, Std III students enjoyed an exciting field trip to Keshav Srushti. The visit aimed to educate students about nature and environmental conservation. Guided by knowledgeable instructors, the children explored various exhibits showcasing local flora and fauna. They participated in interactive activities, learning about biodiversity and sustainable practices. Highlights included a nature walk, where students observed different plant species and animal habitats. The trip ended with a fun workshop on recycling, emphasizing the importance of protecting our environment. Overall, the experience was both educational and enjoyable, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature among the students

On 1st October, the students of Standard I from IES Orion School enjoyed an exciting field trip to Play N Learn. The trip aimed to enhance experiential learning through play.

GANDHI JAYANTI & LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI JAYANTI

IES Orion Kindergarten celebrated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti on Tuesday, 1st October 2024 with great ardor and fervor during school hours. Through an informative PowerPoint Presentation teachers stressed on the value of speak no evil, hear no evil, and see no evil. Students were also exposed to the life and struggle of both the leaders through effective PowerPoint Presentations and stories. Lal Bahadur Shastri also used to follow Gandhiji's principles. We need leaders like Shashtriji, who called the people of the nation to support farmers and soldiers through his statement 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' and take our country towards the path of development and progress. The tiny tots delivered short speeches highlighting the quotes of these great legendary leaders and conveyed their noble messages in the most effective and influential manner. Jr.KG and Sr.KG students also shared their thoughts and a few sentences on ‘My Dear Bapuji.’ Teachers motivated the students to inculcate the valuable qualities of simple living and high thinking.
