Picnic

‘Dinner and a movie, forget that, I’d rather have a picnic with my friends.’
‘Picnics Are Great Fun’Children eagerly wait for the school picnic as they love to spend gala time with their classmates.
Picnic was arranged for Junior and Senior KG students to Narali Baug. Children enjoyed their visit to the park as it facilitated their learning. They enjoyed the swings, slides, sand play in a sand pit, balancing on jungle gym and playing on see-saw.
They also enjoyed watching beautiful flowers, the Arabian Sea with Bandra-Worli Sea –Link and lots of Coconut trees. Thrill and excitement was seen as they expressed their observations. They collected sea-shells and small baby coconuts from the sand-pit that was inside the park. Birds and squirrels accompanied students when they relished snacks.
It was an enjoyable experience on the whole.

Collins Scrabble Championship

On 24th November 2018 Collins scrabble championship tournament was held at Jamnabai Narsee School, Vile Parle, Mumbai.
Following students of IES Orion participated in the tournament.
Gargi Gupta - 7A
Saloni Madkaikar - 8A
Saher Gole - 6AFive games of one hour each were played, each game pairing of the participants were made by the organizers. Through out the day Students were kept busy in these five games.
Saloni Madkaikar won three game out of five, Gargi Gupta won 2 games and Sahar Gole won four games out of five.
They had opponents from different schools of Mumbai and Pune, such as AVM, Pan Bai school, Navy children’s academy, JNS, Reliance foundation , Bombay Scottish.Saher Gole of Std. 6A made it into the top 10 position in the 6th grade category and got a scrabble game kit as a prize.
This was a humble achievement and it was possible due to her consistent rather focused word making ability.Students of IES Orion enjoyed the scrabble tournament and returned with lots of confidence to face the future challenges at regional level scrabble games . We thank our principal Madam for encouraging the students and staff of the school to keep the fighting spirit alive within us.
It was an enjoyable experience on the whole.

Educational trip to Hyderabad

Students of Grade VI to IX visited Hyderabad on a 5- day tour from 10th to 14th Nov. 2018.
Students enjoyed visiting the various tourist sites such as the Salar Jung Museum, Birla Temple, Lumbini Park Laser Show and Zoological Park, the white tiger and the amazing birds attracted the attention of all. The most loved sight- seeing experience was the RAMOJI FILM CITY.

Diwali Celebration

‘Enjoying the ‘Festival of Lights’.
The time of ‘Diwali’ is one of the most festive and beautiful time of the year. Students decorated earthen oil lamps with sparklers and sequences and made them more colourful and attractive.
Teachers explained that instead of polluting the environment, we can avoid firecrackers and celebrate ‘Pollution free festival of lights’. It can be an eco-friendly affair this year. Don’t use electric lights. Instead, go for small earthen lamps and candles. It would reduce electricity consumption. Students promised to celebrate ‘Green Diwali’ without crackers.
Diwali party was a great fun. Students came in party clothes. The classrooms and corridors were decorated with paper lanterns made by students. Rangolis were displayed and earthen lamps were lit. Students enjoyed dancing. Diwali savouries were distributed. Students relished the same. The whole atmosphere became festive.
