National Unity Day

NATIONAL UNITY DAY was observed to pay our respects to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the IRON MAN of India, on his birth anniversary. To commemorate his contributions, students were imparted information of the role he played in the Indian freedom struggle. They were administered the oath to strive for the Unity and integrity of the nation.

Fruit Activities

Nursery
Nursery students and teachers brought different fruits throughout the week to facilitate learning. Fruits were washed, peeled and cut to provide hands on experience. Students enjoyed eating slices of various fruits. They also shared their knowledge about the fruits. Teachers explained the nutritional value of the fruits and our little ones promised to eat at least one fruit a day.

Farm Buddies and Ocean Friends week

‘Ocean Friends and Farm Buddies’ Week was celebrated with great excitement and zeal by KG section. During this week beautiful projects were displayed by teachers and students to add flavour to the topic. Fancy Dress Event was organised for the students on 25th October 2018.
Majority of the Senior KG children spoke about the effects of water pollution on marine life and Junior KG children spoke on the cruelty towards farm animals. They sang songs and watched various stories and videos about sea and farm animals on the smart board.

Fire Safety Training

This session was conducted under the guidance of Shri Ramesh Rao, G C Member, IES. It was an effective and informative session where teachers were made aware of the Fire - fighting systems and equipments installed in the school building including the smoke detectors, water sprinklers, hose pipes, water ducts and availability of huge amount of water in litres for emergency situations.
Information about safety measures were given through a ppt and also teachers got the opportunity to operate the fire extinguishers learning the techniques of operation.

One to One Parents’- Teachers’ Meeting

Positive parent-teacher interactions help parents, guardians, educators and students. Hence one to one ‘Parents Meeting’ was conducted to discuss their child's progress in school.
Parents were informed about their ward’s overall progress. They were guided for the holistic development of their children.
It was an interactive session and parents co-operated very well to build a good rapport between teachers and parents.

Saraswati Poojan And Navaratri Celebration

Dussehra : Celebrating ‘Victory of Good over Evil’
Students brought incense sticks for ‘Saraswati Poojan’. Teachers drew the symbolic ‘Saraswati’ on the slates. Students recited shlokas to seek blessings from the ‘Goddess of Knowledge’. Goddess Amba was also worshiped for the strength and courage.
Students bought various flowers and spoke about the name, colour, fragrance and its uses. To reinforce the topic, teachers imparted more information about the flowers that enhanced their general knowledge. Power point Presentation on ‘Dussehra Celebration’ was shown to the students.
All KG students wore colourful attire and had a gala time together. They enjoyed playing ‘Dandiya’ in multipurpose hall. Students relished crunchy and nutritious ‘Chikki Bar’.

Orientation for Hyderabad Tour

An orientation for students and teachers accompanying the students was conducted by the Principal Ms. Pratibha Prabhu. Students were instructed about the dos and don’t’s for the trip, and also introduced to their respective group teachers.

It was conducted by the Principal Ms. Pratibha along with the team of Tour conductors for the parents. Detailed itinerary of the trip along with details of requirements to carry etc. were instructed.

Annual Concert

The Annual Concert for Grade III to IX : Show 1 and 2.
The students from Grade III to IX presented their wonderful talents in dance and drama on the theme ‘MUMBAI MERI JAAN’.
Ms. Harjeet Kaur, Principal St. Mary’s ICSE School, Koparkhairane, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for show one.
Dr. Madhura Phadke, Ex Principal, Pawar Public School, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for show two.
Ms. Mitali Rudra, Principal P. G. Garodia School, ICSE graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for Grade I & II.
The tiny tots presented a wonderful show of talents in dance and drama on the theme, HUMOUR’.

Gizmo Geeks 2018 Competition

Venue : Lilavatibai Poddar High School, Santacruz.
The thirteenth version of ‘Gizmo Geeks 2018’, an inter-school techno-fest, took place on 7th October, 2018 at Lilavatibai Podar School, Santacruz (W), Mumbai. VIII B Secured 1st position We are proud to share, that our school participated in all the events and bagged the prestigious “BEST TEAM TURNOUT” trophy, in spite of participating in this competition for the first time.

Intra school Art Competitions

This event was conducted in IES Manik Vidya Mandir ICSE,Bandra.

Nursery: Colouring within the limits
Junior KG: Clay Moulding –Any animal
Senior KG: Drawing and Colouring ‘sceneryBoth the schools enthusiastically participated in the ‘Art’ Competitions. The first round of the event was organized in respective schools during ‘Art’ sessions. Five students from each class were selected for the final round. Art teacher Miss Naimita Raval from ‘Jasudben ICSE School’ ‘Khar’ as a judge, selected four prizes from each section.
The prizes were given to deserving candidates from each section. The event was a great success.

Field Visit

To get a hands on experience of how vegetables and fruits are sold. Sr. KG Students visited the ‘Godrej Nature’s Basket’ at Prabhadevi.
Godrej Nature’s Basket is India’s pioneering food destination to provide a brighter customer experience with an assortment of finest local and international foods and highest level of service.
Students were delighted to observe India’s freshest and finest food experience and customer’s 'Daily Food Delights’, be it the freshest fruits and vegetables, the finest meats, wide array of cheese, irresistible bakery products and more.
This visit enhanced their learning as they observed not only selling of vegetables and fruits but also selling of different food items and a variety of other household goods under one roof. They were fascinated to hold the trolley and wanted to shop all by themselves. They were also shown the electronic billing and payment system.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Assembly was organised for Kindergarten students. Students sang songs and narrated few sentences on, “My Dear Bapuji”. The stories on the life of Mahatma Gandhi were narrated by Sr.KG. students. They coloured the worksheets specially made for ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ celebration promoting ‘Swacha Bharat Abhyan’
A slide show on “Gandhi-Father of our nation” was shown to the students during school hours.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Commemorating 150th Birth Anniversary of ‘The Father of the Nation – Mahatma Gandhi, an elaborate programme was conducted for classes I to V on the 1st of October.
Grade I and II : Collage work / Drawing on Discipline in students.
Grade III: Handwriting of a passage on Gandhiji.
Grade IV: Story Writing: An episode on the life of Gandhiji.
Grade V: Essay Writing: Education for the Weaker sections of the Society.2.10.2018: Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations :
The day was marked with respect and reverence in commemoration of the MAHATMA. Students of Grade VI to VIII conducted a special assembly where they sang songs such as
De di hume azadi binakhadaga bina dhal,
Sabarmati kesant tune kar diya kamaal…A skit depicting episodes on Non-violence, Dandi March, Non –cooperation movement was presented by the students.
This was followed by the PRABHAT PHERI, where the students walked around the vicinity of the school with slogans advocating cleanliness,
Clean City, Green City
Cleanliness is next to GodlinessThe students wrote
essays on “Gandhian Principles”.
Students participated with enthusiasm in the events.
